Every week this bloke posts saying he is never playing the site again, its r1gg3d, its a joke site.
The fact is the site is probably the softest site on the entire planet. Ivan Idiot from Idiotsville could not lose money week after week on this site. It genuinely is a licence to print money.
If it's any consolation Bogart, I just spent the two hundred quid you donated in the sales, got some mint skate shoes.
Keep donating.

well if it is every time on the river then something must be wrong..
I wonder how many times it should actually occur on the river?
if anyone knows we can write it down or something and maybe help bogart build a case .
I dont expect ecogra will be interested until we write down proof that it really actually occurs every time and that it really actually shouldnt.

I don't class myself as being a good player Paddy, but I'm better than the people I play against. I'd also suggest I have to be doing something right to earn one of them sharks on Scope.
And I would certainly class myself as being smart enough to walk away from a site if I thought it was ****, unlike some of the thicketts on here who despite thinking its fixed keep on donating.

I used to have a mate back in the day who would regularly do his wages in playing the fruit machines in the bookies. I used to point out with depressing regularity the sticker on the machine clearly stating it would pay out at the rate of 85%. Essentially it was there in black and white, that for every 100 quid he put in, it would keep 15.
He used to talk to one particular fruit machine in Billies in Tooting. He would begin by being nice to it with comments like " Come on baby, be kind to Daddy " or " Let the big fella on the board baby."
This would lead to escalating levels of direct abuse, threats of violence, actual violence in the form of punches and kicks, and finally, one day, a full on assault with a claw hammer. He actually went out to his van, came back with a hammer, and gave it a right going over, whilst screaming over and over again " You dirty f****** b**** , I told you this was going to happen ! "
For some reason, these threads always remind me of him.

I will get back to you once I have digested this fine link.

You are of course 100% correct POP, and I will check out the link, and almost certainly quit playing.
I am still puzzled though as to why you still continue to play on the corrupt, r1gg3d, site. I'm sure you have a genuine reason because clearly you are not someone who is as easily fooled as people like me. Is it for test purposes ? I suspect that's what it is, but would like clarification before signing up to the cause completely.

So anyone on this site who doesn't lose many and think it is **** must of course work for them. How very Orwellian.
I guess weak people and weak players always need to blame something. I am sure POP has the perfect game though, and of course he should expect his 80% AIPF to hold 100% of the time. *sigh*
Had a weird day myself yesterday, and this occurred in just 800 hands. THREE times when after flopping the stone cold nut flush and betting heavy into it I get called and (3 different) the guy hits his miracle one outer on the turn for his inside straight flush draw. Pretty sick but that's poker. Those three players are now noted and I can't wait to play them again.

Totally irrelevant you lost on river as money went in preflop.
YOU called an AIPF with 77 !!!!!! then put the rest in with 55 pre!!!!!!!
Nothing wrong with the outcome, it is your game that needs looking at so stop blaming everything else!

Well thanks to POP I am taking no MORE OF THIS HORSESH1T !!!
Have fired off the following email to Betfair, this VERY BLOODY MORNING !!!
user chipfire227
Dear Betfair :
As you can probably tell from your records I have been playing poker on your site for 4 years. During that time, as you can also probably see, I have made a profit in excess of £20k. I assumed this was because the site was bona fide, and I posessed som genuine aptitude for the game....HOW WRONG I WAS !!!
I have now learnt from a gentleman of PROFOUND WISDOM that the site is in fact R1GG3D ,CORRUPT, AND A BLOODY JOKE !!!! Far from being a half decent player, I am in fact a pawn used by the site that allows me to win more often as they need this type of naive supporter to bolster their image of fair play !!!
Jesus, how DO YOU THINK THIS MAKES ME FEEL !!! Jesus !!! Empathise for Gods sake, put yourself in my shoes !!!! A PAWN FOR CHRISTS SAKE A BL00DY B@STARD PAWN !!!
By way of redress I DEMAND the following :
1) A bill for all the money I have FRAUDULENTLY withdrawn to I can repay the money as SOON AS FLAMING POSSIBLE !!!
2) An apology.
3) Some compensation...I was thinking along the lines of a £10 free bet on the Grand National ( stake not included in any returns ) so do not try to fob me off with anything less.
4)The immediate withdrawl from usage of the entire poker network.
5) An apology. I may have included this already, but I think you get my drift.
Yours sincerely
CHIPPER.

Common sense should tell anyone that the site and all others must be **** !
These sites are here to make money by any means , and as much as they can !
This is just an opinion ! Lol ... I still play here and get taken all the time !
All most of us would like is an honest poker site ! Are they out there ?

I was reading on the 2+2 forums last night about a guy (who incidently is a winning player and puts in a lot of volume on the cash tables), going through a downswing that has so far lasted 5 months. He plays every day, several hours a day and multitables. His argument was, how can a winning player go on such a lengthy downswing. How can it be possible. I was really intrigued by his story because its happened to me and obviously its happened to hundreds of thousands of other players but when it happens to you, and im talking from my own experiences, it feels like the world is against you and you cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel. Im sure most players understand about variance in poker, but why is it that when you go through a bad spell it lasts for so long and that no matter what you do, how far ahead in the hand you are when the chips are in, it justs seems to deal miracle cards to your opponent all the time. Yes as we all know, these beats can happen and likewise you can inflict them on your opponents but when this period comes when you cant do anything right, its relentless. I went through a 2 month downswing on Pokerstars over the christmas period and it really affected me to the point where i said to myself that i needed a break so i self-excluded for 30 days. I am itching to get back but i know I need this break so i can refresh and go back with a clear mind. Can any decent players on betfair tell me if theyve experienced such lengthy downswings and if so, what advice you can give to when such occasions occur.

According to Elky in last months Poker Player, you just grind your way through the variance.
Personally, I bear in mind the wise words of Alan Cunningham, who stated that what makes a player profitable in the long term, is how little he/she loses when they are running bad.
If I have a losing week I set aside a couple of hours and go through my hand histories and review the way I've played. My tilt control is pretty good, but I think everyone can make bad decisions when they are losing, and I'm no different. So being honest with yourself and identifying and plugging leaks is vital.
If I'm simply running bad i.e. getting it in good and getting outdrawn, I just carry on and wait for my luck to change. If your bankroll management is good, it shouldn't be a problem anyway.
If I think I'm playing badly, I have a break from it, or I try a different format of the game or another network.
Think my longest bad run was about 1000 STTS, I just couldn't make a penny from the game, however at the same time I ran like God in MTTS.
Have to say I have a lot of respect for anyone who plays poker for a living and who doesn't have the option of walking away from the game for a few months. Having to keep on playing when you are on an uber downswing must be hell.

Most players don't realise when they are running good which can last just as long as a bad downswing so if a player goes from winning more than he should to winning less than he should the downswing seems even more brutal.
I am mainly an MTT player but have had a 12 month downswing and it sent me mental and it was across multiple sites so were they all conspiring against me? What made it worse was the previous year I had run really well so went from earning more than my yearly wage to being a losing player. Very hard to accept!
If you cannot deal with variance or are just a losing player who refuses to accept your short comings then you start stupid 'it's all r1gged' threads and come up with all sorts of conspiracy theories to explain losses. These are the same players than when they crack AK with A4 think 'I deserved that' and forget about it 30 seconds later. When their AK is cracked by is cracked by A9 30 minutes later they think it is all fixed and go on about it for hours/days/weeks (delete as appropriate).

HF, is the last paragraph aimed at me? I simply asked for advice from fellow players in what they do when they go though a lengthy downswing. Not being funny but your post jumps to the conclusion that Im saying its r1gged and pokerstars is conspiring against me but not once in my post have i mentioned anything of the sort. Chipfire has given simple but really logical advice in his post, whereas yours seems like a scathing attack. If your post was about general losing, whinging, conspiracy theory players and not aimed direct at me, then i apologise.

It was not aimed at you JC but at all the conspiracy theorists.
No need to apologise though as I have phrased it in a way where you could take it that way so I understand why you might think that.

Chip made an excellent and useful post. I do as Chip says, I drop stakes, change games and in the worst case change sites (even if only for a bit)
One thing I do notice is when a player shoves his chips all in and watches the percentages. They get their chips all in say AK v 22 and the board comes AK872, they only notice the 95% favourite losing on the river yet what they fail to realise is they were never a 95% favourite and always a 50/50 shot.
The cards are as random for everyone, the sites don't need to juice the hands, they already charge extortionate rake. 20% for the little guys is a total joke and unbeatable for most, it stops feeding the levels above and keeps churning the rake over and over (what they want)
Anyone can get lucky, you win not by your own brilliance but by making less mistakes than your opponents.

Timeframe innit?
At the start its 50/50
At the turn they are 95/5
In terms of tilt factor its best to retain the 1st innit.

1. If poker sites could juice hands they shouldn't because they will lose money. If a **** deal gets a player to put his stack in over and over until his roll has gone the site gets the capped rake from a relatively small number of hands and other players get the bulk of the profit. However if the player is breakeven at the tables but his bankroll declines due to rake then it's the site that gets the majority of the guy's roll. It's in the site's interest for people to lose slowly.
2. If sites did arrange for river suckouts you should be delighted. Your strategy should be to fold premium hands pre flop and play weak hands to the river. You know you will make a profit because you know how the rig works. I'm yet to hear of anyone who believes sites rig the deal actually following this strategy. Why is that?
