As usual Mr Chip you have a very valid point.
The name of the promo was not good and was misleading.
I will have words with the appropriate department.
Love

The first one wasn't open " to anyone on Betfair " as you had to generate sufficent player points during the qualification period to get a ticket.

The first tournament "Team Betfair Wants You" on 31st December was an all inclusive tournament available to all BF Poker customers i.e. anyone could play in it.
Thats not what that says

I know de, that's why I pointed out that there was a qualification process. I think it might even have only been 60 points for qualification.

Either way it was cracking value with the top 100 getting paid at least 100 bucks, and only about 600 runners.

Yes, all credit to betfair for a great promotion.

I qualified without realising it until I saw  a ticket in the players club.  I registered immediately as I thought I would forget about it and it so it proved  Sad  Luckily for me I then saw the thread by lady carla, thanks carla, on here and I remembered it, although I was an hour late!

I do not play no limit mtts so I thought I had no chance, but as I got closer to the last 100 players it was quite exciting.  I scraped  into the last 100 and the prize was $150, not $100.  Although I agree with others who have said they would have preferred the prize in a lump sum, rather than $5 a day. A thought for the future maybe betfair.

Do another one, betfair.  One promotion like this is far better than loads of silly little ones or ones only for the pro grinders.  Here was a chance for the recreational player to feel that they were valued.

Annie

Your point about one lump sum was made by your forum reps and is being taken on board by our promo team.
We agree about the distribution of funds to a wider audience rather than the pro-grinders and there will be more to come.

Thank you, BetfairPRManager Happy

I only wish that you could teach some pr to chipfire, klup and helmuthian folds or stop them replying to my posts.

Annie - congrats. I'm sure you would have received encouragement from other forumites whilst playing if you had posted on the relevant thread. Many of us including chip were posting way after we crashed out. Well done anyway.

It is the original post that is slightly misleading though it is a question without a question mark! ?

Which is why lots of posts saying why not I?

Clearly I do not qualify but at least I now know if I had signed up via an affiliate i would have a 2nd chance.

Still it leaves me with where to play this saturday instead so will play more on Party Poker with rake free MTTs than I would usually play on Betfair for this saturday. Whether that gives me a better ROI who knows but items such as a rake free January is the type of promotion that BF could consider?

This sponsorship tourney was the best of the Christmas Promotions so it is hardly surprising that we would want to play again under similar circumstances.

The idea of 30 days @ $5 is great. It will teach the pros (low stakes or otherwise) rudimentary bankroll management skills. Though transaction wise it cannot be a great way of dealing with a prize distribution. Looking forward to seeing if there are any posts on missing sponsorship monies during 2012.

I'd rather the prize money went to forumites than elsewhere and would always offer words of encouragement to anyone doing well in the tourney.

When I exited the BF Snowball tourney on the final table I thanked everyone for a good game and wished them all luck, but I wanted Rhino who was still in the tourney, to go on and win it, and continued watching in the hope that he would.

It's always encouraging when you see one of the regulars winning something big. I know when I won the 5.7k package in the summer loads of people I will probably never meet in real life were congratulating me, and that makes it feel that little bit more special. Yeah we all play for the money, but a bit of recognition from your peers is the icing on the cake.

And yeah of course if I knew annie was still in approaching the bubble I would have offered encouragement and support, as I'm sure most on here would.
