And finally after being short stacked for most of the day our hero Nicholas Gibson falls in 10th place and will be the final exit of the day.
Nicholas finds A7 on the Big Blind and shoves for 238k after the button had made it 50k, the B button tanks for a bit and then calls him with KJ. Hitting a King on the flop and a Jack on the turn Nicholas is drawing dead on the river but leaves with a very healthy €7,970 to keep up his perfect Betfair cashing record. Reached 1st break of the day and still 9 players remain.
There's been some big raises and a couple of shoves but no actual all in situations. Raigo has probably been the biggest sufferer so far having been pushed out of at least 3 big pots! |
|
By:
Players are now back from the break..
Blinds are now 20k/40k with a 5k running ante ante. Average stack is 1,111,000. |

Raigo takes out Emmanuel in 9th place.
Firstly Raigo doubled Emmanuel up to over 500k When his JJ could not crack KK Two hands later Emmanuel is all in again after shoving over Raigo's 105k raise, Raigo tanks and calls with AQ, Emmanuel shows 99 but and Ace on the flop seals his fate. Emmanuel gets 9830 euro for his long journey back to Argentina. Interestingly this was the 1st time he had ever left Argentina in his life! [ This image is no longer available. ] |

Grudi Grudev Eliminated in 8th Place and gets 12,753 euro.
He gets it all in pre flop with A3 against Big Roger's K8 soooted. The flop brings two 3's and only one club and Roger looks in trouble but runner runner clubs save his bacon (and thats a lot of bacon) and Grudi leaves in 8th. [ This image is no longer available. ] |

By:
Ville Salmi eliminated in seventh place by Vaigo and wins himslef €16,738.
Vaigo had raised to 130k and Ville shoved 550k over him with A3, Ville calls and shows A9. The flop comes 6 8 T offering no refuge for Ville, the turn is a 9 so Ville can only chop at best but the 8 on the river sends him to the rail. [ This image is no longer available. ] |

Mark Adorjanyi out in sixth place and receives 21,255 euro
The previous hand he lost a 1.5 million chip flip with Piotr. Then next hand Kimmo makes it 120k, Mark shoves his remaining 200k in and Kimmo calls for the extra 80k. Kimmo shows AQ and Mark has 33. The flop brings an ace and there was no way back for mark who loses 2 flips in two hands but has played a very solid game. [ This image is no longer available. ] |

Chris Kiefert Eliminated in 5th Place and wins 27,631 euro
Roger Hairabedian, has been a lucky boy today. Hairabedian had limped in the small blind for 60,000 before Chris Kiefert raised to 175,000 out of the big blind. Hairabedian moved all in and Kiefert let out a deep sigh before announcing call about a minute later. Roger shows A3 and Chris 88. The flop brings an Ace and a 3 and no 8 on the turn or river condemns Chris to 5th place. [ This image is no longer available. ] |

Piotr Madej eliminated in fourth place and wins 36,664 euro.
Piotr had flat called a Roger 130k raise and then Kimmo re-raises all in, Roger folds but Piotr snap calls with KQ and Kimmo shows TT. Flop 895 Turn 8 and river 3. Piotr leaves with his head held high. [ This image is no longer available. ] |

Kimmo Kurko Eliminated in 3rd Place 47,823 euro
He shoves his last 1.2 million into the pot from the button, Roger calls and Raigo folds. Kimmo shows JTos and Roger has QQ. Flop AJ6 gives Kimmo hope, an Ace on the turn takes 4 of his outs away and a 7 on the river puts him in third place. [ This image is no longer available. ] |

Hey Dave
Gather Big Roger has been doing his thing today! Is heads up a contrast in styles? :) |
|
By:
Of the last 11 hands Raigo Aasma has won 10 of them. None of the pots have been meaty, but he’s slowly grinding Roger Hairabedian down, stacks are 7,000,000 versus 2,800,000 now.

Big Roger's style at the final table has just been to run good.
![]() He has got really lucky on about 3 occasions but when ahead everything has held up for him! |

We have a champion here in Prague!!!!
Raigo Aasmaa wins GSOP Prague for 100,000 Euro and runner-up Roger Hairabedian takes home 65,890 euro. On the final hand he raised to 200,000 and Roger made the call. On the flop of 5s 6d 2d, Raigo check bets for 300,000 and Roger announced he was all-in. Raigo asked for a count and for 2,275,000 more Raigo announced call. Raigo show Kd Jd and Roger 9d 7s. A bland 2c on the turn helps no-one but the Ad on the river gives a conclusive result and Raigo is crowned champion. Raigo also wins a $5000 package to the Cayman Islands tour final! Raigo Aasmaa... Overall a really good tournament.
The GSOP staff ran the tourney very well and Marty Wilson was a great host/compere/MC. Not quite as much fun as the Betfair Live events but hats off to the GSOP staff who run a silky smooth tournament and kept all the players happy. On the final table I genuinely believe the best player won which is always a bonus as you don't always get justice in this game. A big shout out to Nicholas Gibson who was top of the Betfair contingent in 10th and was unlucky to miss out on a final table place! This is me from Prague - over and out! |

GSOP Prague was just what I'd want from a poker trip:
Well run tourney, excellent venue. A lot of horrid players. Really great city. Met some more great people and many familiar faces. Dave and Fran were excellent and I didnt even qualify with Betfair. Dave worked very hard on this, its a great read. I thoroughly recommend Betfair Live London in Feb. Congrats Nick on 10th and Philly on the side event win. |
|
By:
Agree with all the above. Fran and Dave did a great job in Prague and I personally really enjoyed the trip.
Olof and I were way too hungover from the party and missed our flights, for the 2nd trip running... but had a good(and profitable) time overall! |
|

A very well organised event in general. I assume the whole tournament cluster was a gigantic success judging from the number of players i saw hanging around!
Extra thanks to Fran and Dave (and everyone else in the staff, sorry I'm not good with names :)) for a great night out and that legendary "betfair hospitality" that we've all gotten comfortably used to. Hope to see everyone at the next event! Olof |
