Would anyone else fancy a Sunday Community Game , 7.30 start, 6 minute blinds, 2500 starting stack, 10 dollar buy in, 6 week mini league with BF London Live ticket to the winner ?

Not saying I've got any authority to offer this, just a suggestion. Nowt else happening on the site on a Sunday night.

Possibly password protected. LaughLaugh

Yes sounds good Sunday game.

On banter - apart from some mad ramblings from me about the chelsea game and my ko came just on the injury time winner I have no idea. I did not even put some random answers to a quiz that I was not listening to. Next time I'll put some random answers in.

Still have not worked out tonight's midsomer murder and I was supposedly watching it and having my stack knocked off. Lost a cash buy in too.

Needs to attact attention. But I'll stop the random dribbling in case it discourages new forumites...CrazyCrazyCrazyCrazy

What would happen then if one of these new to the forum game wins the league but cannot accept the prize as they are in a different country and have no chance of coming over?  Would the prize then go down to the person who could?

As the prizes are good value................

Gills there is a cash alternative to the top prize in the Wednesday night league.

If we managed to get something  up and running on a Sunday and the winner got a BF London Live Seat, I'm pretty sure someone would make you a decent offer for it should you win it, as plenty on here will be playing it.

The prizes are UK based ones as it's meant to be our Community Game with the emphasis on the fun side of the game, where people are encouraged to join in with the banter and the radio show, hopefully with the long term aim of getting people along to a community live event.

If that sounds a bit xenophobic, it certainly isn't meant to be. When we just had the added prize money each week which was generating a decent overlay, you had people from Eastern Europe playing it purely for the value, and making no attempt to engage in chat, even when you were down to the last few on the final table. There's plenty of other standard MTTS on the site, this one was meant be different and people were supposed to show bluffs and enjoy the subsequent banter. An online event with more of a live feel about it, if you like.

Wouldn't it be simple to have a rule that you must of been a member of the forum for at least six months and posted a mininum number of posts(whatever you think reasonable)that way you stop any Tom**** or Harry joining for the overlay and if they had posted say 20 posts then they would of been involved in some of the topics and by the time they qualified for the tourny they would already know at least some forumites.

The password should stay to keep it 'community', if your worried about getting numbers up then lots of ways to get new players. Send emails to poker players who consistently generate player/betfair points, do a big overlay so players want to be involved($1500 added with buy in $11)you got to look long term and this time year you could have a really excellent community tournament what people will be talking about and that could only generate more new customers who would pay for all the overlay.

Betfair needs to look long term and give something back to their poker players instead of taking it all of the good things away.

The Sunday Game looks 90% certain to start in the New Year, with a poker related prize via a league table. I'm pushing for a BF Prague seat, but a lot will depend on how many people play it, and what the buy in is.Certainly the heads of department at Mondays Q and A session were all in favour of an expansion, there was even talk of the possibility of having it linked to a radio show like the Wednesday one, hosted by Hans, the new BF poker pro.

The Wednesday game last week attracted thirty odd runners, which was a massive drop on the week before, presumably because it was PLO, and I've suggested they scrap the PLO games in future leagues as it's clear from previous events that people simply don't want to play them.

Im pretty sure that BF PR Manager had confirmed that for the time being there would not be a password as a quick look at the Leaderboard confirms all of those in the running for prizes were genuine forumites, but that it would be reviewed again further down the line.

Just to re-iterate what chip said.

We will aim to have a Sunday Community tournament for the New Year which will have a live poker related prize instead of sport. Depending on how generous the bosses are feeling it will either be a package to our Live event or a ticket to a satellite for GSOP/Live events. Just finding out if we can internationalise the tournament on a Sunday, however, the counter argument is that most of our community is English and write/engage in English. Will investigate further and report back.

PLO will be removed from the next schedule for Wednesday night games (New Year)

There will be no password for either game unless we see a sharp increase in people we don't know from the forum or are not engaging with others during the game. We can monitor this going forward.

Any thoughts on the above?

The suggestion that Klup looks at the possibility of running a team event on a Sunday to compliment the Community Game is a good one, hopefully a lot of people would play both if they ran alongside each other, and we could get some decent banter going.

I'd like to think we sold the idea quite well to the bosses present at the Q and A session on Monday. Blush
