It was good to meet you Keith. Great day. Thanks BF.

It was very kind of them to sit the pair of you next to one another. Alas no Golden Lever. Unless McCoy used it all up with the AQ vs AK

Was that you then? Why didn't u introduce yourself?
|
|
By:
No that wasn't me with the AK vs your AQ.
I was the one sighing at every EVVO raise from Keith. And if I'd introduced myself, no way were you folding them sevens. ![]() |

Highlight of the day was Keith comment after his all with J3 got called :
" Oh well, at least I must have 2 live cards..........(cards get turned over)...................... Oh for fks sake ! " |
|

how many played then?
|

Only 50 runners, including 6 Betfair bounties, two of whom made the final table.
Windings went early on, Mrs Wingdings went out 17th, think Keith and rockme went out just before the bubble in 13th and 14th. I scraped into the money, but they didn't announce the payout structure until the bubble burst, so had no idea what I was playing for, but was happy to have covered travel and hotel costs. Someone kept asking for the Brighton score, so assume cgull was there, though didn't have him on any of the tables I was on. Keith kept asking people for their BF usernames but a lot of them either didn't have one or didn't want to talk to him, so none the wiser as to who they were. Lad sat next to me who took rockme out with QQ VS AA was chip leader when I left, plays a lot online ( he told me his name and I've forgotten it ) but doesn't use the forum and had never played live. He was on the verge of a coronary at one point. ![]() |

Oh, and there was loads of really old people there. It was like a visit to an old peoples home, only it didn't really smell overwhelmingly of stale wee wee.
Except in the toilets, obviously. |

Hey guys what is the prize pool for these things?
|
|
By:
Prize pool is $10k, think the winner got $3k. Entry is for anyone who is on Masters status in the Players Club, but theres some confusion as to how long you have to be at Masters Status before you get the invite. Im hoping to clarify this at the next Q and A session.

OK thanks Chipfire. Hoping for an invite to a Betfair live event (not London)...guess I gotta cane the rake and get to Grand Master before I can even hope for that though!
Disagree with the idea you can bring a friend to a VIP event though, nothing stopping you bringing in a 'skilled' player and give them 50%. Betfair VIP games should be for the single invited player only, if that means a field of only 35 or 40 then so be it. That is one of the reasons and incentives players grind to make Master. Wrong to have ringers in there unless you are one invited on the merits of your grind in the first place :) |

I think it's a good idea that you can take a non playing guest, because travelling 300 mile there, and 300 mile back on your lonesome ain't great, and I know a lot of people can find it intimidating walking into a poker club for the first time on their tod. It's also someone to split the petrol/hotel costs with.
Very few people seemed to have brought a friend along that I saw, and a lot of people who said they were attending didnt, presumably put off by the travelling and hotel cost. |
