No Hand HIstory to paste but can I get your thoughts on this hand and if elimination (on the bubble I might add) is at all avoidable here?

4 left on 10 handed SnG, first 3 payout. ($10 NL SNG) Blinds 400/200

I have about average stack size at 3000

I am dealt 88 on the cutoff, I raise to 800, button folds, small blind calls, big blind calls. 3 see flop. Pot around 2500 (with antes).

657 rainbow.

SB opens with 600, BB calls, I raise all-in. SB calls with JJ, BB folds.

I lost the hand and went out on the bubble.

Just wanted peoples opinions of if I should be beating myself up about another bubble exit or am I always getting it in here with overpair and a OESD?

Thoughts appreciated

Cant really comment without seeing other players stack sizes, but i probably shove or fold pre. Pretty amazed with players holding 7 bbs if you include antes that there wasnt a shove pre.

You dont really want to be seeing a flop holding 88 so the min raise pre isnt great, and it came about as good as you could hope for. The big consolation is that even if you shove pre you were going to go out.

Is this hand from 2005?  I'd be pretty alarmed with the SB call these days.  But you still have to shove that flop.

Just shove pre and get unlucky that way.
