Here I am going to make some suggestions as I think of them, Which hopefully the poker team may read and make possible If any good ideas come up
Feel free to leave comments or suggest ANY new ideas, For competitions / Tournament formats that can make the site more appealing
I will start off with this idea :
Example :
$5 PYRAMID tournament
1 game per night
You pay say $5 for the MTT to enter, And instead of receiving the winnings for 1st place you win a PYRAMID STAGE ONE seat taking your total MTT winnings into round 1 of the pyramid
This means If you WIN 1st place of MONDAY NIGHTS PYRAMID ENTRANCE GAME and there were 50 players
Example : £5 entry with 50 players you will have a total of £250 in stage one of the PYRAMID tournament
With a PYRAMID ENTRANCE GAME on MONDAY, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, And sunday night
This would mean 7 players in the PYRAMID ENTRANCE STAGE ONE GAME
Each with possibly a minimum of £250 in the pot (Based on a 50 players MTT WIN)
With at least £2500 in the PYRAMID
These 7 players play down to the last 4 players
The next night 4 players play to decide who faces who in the heads up in the final where the WINNER TAKES ALL
Mate with all due respect, do u really think they are gonna do that. They dont even do the simplest things that anyone asks for. They are simply not bothered. Pokerstars have a department where u can e-mail them with ur ideas, one has recently been added to the tourney schedule. Its a 'timed' tournament in which it finishes at a set time regardless of how many players are still in. They can be half hour, hour, 2 hour tourneys and when the clock hits them finishing times, whoever is left gets their buy-in back and gets winnings to chip ratio. They are always looking for new ideas, something which sadly betfair couldnt give a toss about!

I am happy to forward this idea on to our tournament team and give feedback. There is no reason why an idea that works for you and Betfair cannot be implemented.
Last night we held the first Kunkuwap Challenge that was a mixture of forum ideas / suggestions as well as Betfair Poker concepts

Thanks for the info about the timed tourneys at Pokerstars. I have been thinking about joining them and this has given me an incentive.
I think this proves there are a lot of players like me who do not like touneys going on until the early hours. You can't play properly if you are tired and worried about getting up early in the morning.
It is even a nuisance during the day when a tourney goes on for hours and hours. If you play a stt you know it will be about 1hr 15mins max, but tournies go of for ever with only a five minute break.

yw, yes they are good in the sense that you know exactly when it is finishing, its a really clever idea, the downside is that you wont make too much money from them but hey, at least they're trying to cater for all needs [;)]

Sounds a dreadful idea imo. Once you get to the last 10-15 minutes nits with chips will all be sat there using their full timebank allocation meaning it takes forever to play a hand.
If you play a mtt you should be playing to win. That should be determined by who plays the best poker surely, not who manipulates the clock best ?
Anyone with a basic grasp of maths should surely be able to roughly estimate the finish time of any given mtt anyway by looking at the number of runners/the starting stacks, and the blind levels ?

The point is that they all take ages, chipfire. We can all know how long a tourney might take but that still does not help. I would like a tourney that ends before 11pm, but hardly any do

It seems that you cannot estimate the finish time of a tourney, chipfire - perhaps your maths is not basic enough? You had no problems with the tourney beforehand, you sang its praises. Whereas I looked at it and saw the $1 rebuys etc and knew it would go on and on. This is what you said AFTER the tourney : -
The rebuy period went on way, way, way, too long. Everyone seemed to rebuy for a dollar immediately to get them to 5000, then sit around waiting for the dollar add on.
Over 5 hours for a first prize of $100 is too long when a lot of us have to be up at 7 for work. You deffo want to be finishing before midnight, and either killing the double rebuy or halving the rebuy period.
And can you please stop picking on me. Every time I post, there you are nitpicking every word I say. You are supposed to be the betfair ambassador, not be nasty to forum members with legitimate posts.

Chipfire with all due respect, for someone that represents the betfair community and seems on the whole a decent person, why do you knock ppl for their comments. Whether you think that this kind of tourney is good or ****, you have to realise that it caters for a lot of ppl. if you want to post what you think about this kind of tourney then fine, but please stop insulting ppl.

u can generally judge how long a tourey wil run with the example chip given
but when rebuys become a factor the chips stacks can change dramaticaly so hard too judge when rebuy tourneys finish
until after all the rebuys and add on are finished

Just looks like this would take too long and means juggling for the casual player. Though steps type of idea are fine.
Don't mind the league idea in the current one and a mix of games at low stakes. Happy to do that.
Its the social thing of the community tournament and to win tournaments takes a long time. Banter was OK too.
Personally prefer rebuys to get some decent deep stack poker in a MTT format. And can be a larger prize fund for a small investment. I also do not mind dollar rebuys for community tournament. It changes the thinking and means that some of the maths changes.
If worried about time limits best to stick to STTs or 30 player ones. Or even cash and put a maximum time on it.
Keep up the ideas though.

Jeez annie, my comment wasn't even aimed at you. Talk about paranoia.
When someone states IMHO, it means exactly that, in my humble opinion. This is a public forum, if you post something, then your comments are out there for anyone and everyone to see.
In my humble opinion, a tourney which ends when the clock stops is an awful idea, for the reasons stated. I happen to like the bubble/final table of mtts, theres nothing like it to get the adrenelain flowing. Thats my opinion. I also think these games would be wide open to all manner of collusion, as just before the tourney ends 2 players with average stacks at the same table, faced with the prospect of small cashes, could simply pre-arrange to go all in against each other thereby guaranteeing themselves a big payout. If people want to play them thats fine and dandy, good luck to them
Obviously mtts with rebuys/add ons/late registration are more complex when it comes to calculating finishing times, but with standard tourneys its pretty easy. A few minutes before it starts multiply staring stacks x players entered to get a good idea of the chips in play. Once you have this figure you should easily be able to calculate exactly what time it would be impossible for the game to run beyond. If you have 200,000 chips in play for example its extremely unlikely the game will go beyond the point where the blinds are 20,000/40,000.
We are talking about a game based around maths, so apologies if its construed as arrogance if i assume people can do the basics.
FWIW I 100% agree with Annie that BF no longer seems to run decent MTTS for recreational players that start and finish at reasonable hours. I've said so on here, and i said so at the Q and A meeting. Because you disagree with someones opinion, it doesnt automatically mean you are picking on them, it simply means you don't share their opinion.

Annie, some advice, given with the best intentions. Playing mtts with the mindset that your lack of aggression will see you cash rather than win is not EV+. These games are heavily loaded in favour of players who finish 1st or 2nd and penalise those happy just to cash.
Take the aforementioned $10 30 man stts for example. The top 6 cash, but wheras the winner gets 108 dollars, the 6th place gets 15 dollars. So if you play 6 games, one win and five non cashes, gets you more than 6 x cashes in 6th.By all means be cautious till the mid point, but after that you need to be aggressive and steal pots rather than waiting for good hands. Once you get to the point where you have less than 15 bbs, start attacking before you lose your fold equity.
If in doubt get someone with a good ROI to go through an entire mtts worth of hand histories for one of your games and pick their brains.

A bit strong that apocolypse tbh, only adds fuel to her fire.
I do agree though that he is wasting his time trying to converse with her though, she has grabbed victim status by the scruff and has no intention of letting go.

Chip, this game is about making money, find out what works for you and stick to it. I don't think I would play them as they run for too long for a very low ROI but it would be similar to a 50/fifty but with less chance of cheaters. If Annie finds she is making money at them then good for her.

So a multi encourages cheaters? It would take a hell of a lot of Chinese syndicate good players to make it pay imo.
I've never worried about colluders BTW, it takes 2 good colluders to donk me. Been refunded twice on FT to colluders, both times I donked out by bad play by myself.

Since I made that last statement I reported my first 2 cheaters on Stars. I got 3 handed in a 6 handed game against the 2 cheaters when I noticed strange betting patterns. Any raise I made was called by both while they never attacked each other except once to dump chips to one who was getting low. Straight after they KO'd me they both pushed all in with rags until one of them won. I reviewed the hand history which confirmed my suspicions.
I emailed support and got a reply within 5 minutes. I done a player search and they played together 4 times again. They are still playing together as we speak and have moved up stakes. I'm confident I will be proved correct and get a refund although I'm slightly disappointed they haven't been suspended yet as their collusion is blatant TBF. Hello Ovalman,
Thank you for your mail.
Based on a preliminary review of the situation you reported, a complete review of the players involved has been initiated. This will include checking on relationships, location and play.
Depending on our findings, the players may be contacted and asked to explain relationships and/or play. The entire process generally takes up to 2 weeks, but can be delayed if we don't receive prompt responses.

Its a multi-table in so much as there will be play on multiple tables, but it will be nothing like a standard mtt which continues to its natural conclusion with one player left standing.
Take a standard mtt for example which is down to its last 20 players. Two players who are known to each other and have average stacks , are sitting 10th and 11th at the same table. They have little or no incentive to engineer a hand where player A passes all his/her chips to Player B to give him/her the chip lead. Simply because Player A exits the tourney with no guarantee Player B will get a decent cash.
However if the same situation arises but both players know the tourney will end in 2 or 3 hands time there becomes a massive incentive to chip dump especially from the slightly larger to stack to the shorter one, as a 20th place and a 1st or 2nd place combined, is surely bound to pay more than a 10th and an 11th place combined ?
The players involved wouldn't even need to be out and out colluders, just players with an ounce of common sense and an agreement that whenever the situation arises they agree to take each other on and split the prize money.

I'm just watching these clowns play together, player A min raises, player B min reraises, player A folds. Alarm bells were ringing but it was only after they KO'd me and they raised each other with rags did the penny drop. They're not even good at it but they have won quite a few $$$'s since I've started watching them and it's all low stakes. I suppose Stars are watching them too and building up evidence so they can confiscate funds, only when they have enough evidence or go to withdraw will they step in.
I still don't think it would be worth the hassle Chip for colluding in these new timed games. There are easier ways for them to collude in cash or a STT without the hassle of playing in a multi. I've stated earlier that colluders have never worried me and now I've outed my first 2 I'll stand by that remark. I will however be a bit more wary of who I'm playing against.

The thing is mate that the good ones get away with it for thousands of games without the software detecting them. It seems endemic. I was playing a d2n last week on 888 as they are the only stts on there that fill, and the players at my table were openly discusing Polish players colluding in the 50$ game.
I haven't made a cent this year playing stts, its only some good mtt cashes that have kept me playing.

Maybe it eats into my ROI without me knowing but I have a healthy ROI on all sites and that includes around 400 D2N's on Entraction (only my STT ROI here is bad strangely enough) What I don't know doesn't hurt me TBH, I swim with the low stakes fishies and sometimes I get caught in a bigger net.
