I want a big baggy one so I can put a top underneath because I'll get cold in short sleeves. Can I have one of nickflick's xl please, and are we having a Betfair sticky thingy to put over the name?
|
|
By:
'Betfair sticky thingy' - i thought the only Betfair sticky thingy was what kunoba took out of his ear after rooming and wrestling with dinos, im confused, is there another Betfair sticky thingy im not aware of!!![:o][:o]
|
|
By:
Yes we are having sticky thingy's to cover the names.

Glad to hear it, or else everyone will be calling me Nick all day haha :o)
This time next week the A team will be in action. Hope we're beating the B team! |

I'm worried about this sticky thing. If you are not careful Deb's shirt will read SussexGirl loves NickFlick.
Definitely a drink from me for any Forumite knocking out a ILPP playewr at my next live event. A double for knocking out Dinos! Nice to know there is a shirt with my name out there. And an honour that SussexGirl is wearing it. Good luck all, I'll watch the live streaming/community updates. |
|
By:
haha Nick, shame you're not playing yourself though then we could be the NickFlick twins :o)
|
|
By:
do u want to play nick ?
|

I'm not planning to hit Luton till about midday, why dont you leave the shirts at the casino Alexsdad, I'm sure they wouldn't mind and you will need to make yourself a member, the casino is open 24 hours.
Despite the banter between the two teams, I sincerely hope that the teams both run good and finish first and second. Both teams have players capable of achieving good results. I'd like to say a big Thank You to Dinos for again organising the teams and making it all possible. I'd also like to thank Betfair and I love playing poker for the sponsorship of the event. The event is a great tournament and is always well run by the APAT and I am proud to be taking part in one of the teams. I'm looking forward to meeting a few new faces and getting back together with some old friends. |
|
By:
I totally agree with the above. Hope both teams run good (but we run better of course haha). If you leave the shirts with Tighty at the casino they will be perfectly safe there. He is normally there early to set things up. I'm sure Des will be there as well. They have just posted the table draw on the apat forum. Hope I'm allowed to post the link here, if not can someone please delete it. They have asked if we can all be there by 1.45 at the latest to sign in and have team photo, so looks like ours might be one short.
So looking forward to this and a big thank you to Dinos and Betfair :o) http://www.apat.com/forum/index.php?topic=9807.0;topicseen |

Thank you appollo and sussexgirl - but credit should also go to iliketrips & Aj Cairns who planted the seed.
I also would not be true if I didn't say that I would be happier the quicker the ermm .. cough cough ... so called 'A' Team is eliminated. :D Just so you all know, Im not leaving Grantham before 11.15 so i wont make it there before 1.30. If im running late, thrappers will be informed! Travel well all and look forward to seeing you. |

By:
Think you mis-hit the key there and meant to hit B instead :o)
I have a friend who lives in Grantham. I'm coming up there next weekend. Didn't realise B Team rif-raf lived there too!! |

As much as I would have loved to play I was not available this weekend. My little un (James 17) visiting as its half term. As a divorcee any time with my boys will always take priority over poker.
Apologies for not posting earlier though I did chat briefly online at the table on wednesday. The beer/drink offer is still on. Also extended to any of the ILPP team knocking out Dinos too, and to Dinos for organising the entries. Also other forumites posting. Hope to meet some of you again at a live event soon (so that you can cash in your drink token), as well as those that I have not met before (mainly because my only live tourney was that Betfair live London event where I made quite a few friends by being the bubble boy). You all seem friendly enough on line. Enjoy the weekend all of you ! |

As for team photos/lateness: both teams probably need an inflatable dummy/doll or even those bright yellow bananas and put the yellow shirt with sticky name tag on so you can quickly find your seats.
Of course, if I were playing, i'd be so tight early on anyway that I'd have same amount of chips as not being there. I'd be waiting for those suited aces. And apologies for not being so chatty lately. I've had the flu. And had to take more sick leave in October than in the whole of my working life. It's not been good for any on-line poker. I could not concentrate, and have done really silly things like ignoring add-ons or even forgetting to rebuy and then wondering what has happened. |

My arrangements for this weekend. Get to King's Cross by 10am (no Victoria Line)! New Malden-Waterloo-Euston and walk. James has no direct train from Norwich to Liverpool Street, so he has to go via Cambridge.
Meet and get back to New Malden. Drop of gear. Ensure he and I have footie gear. he definitely has 90 minutes. I'll probably have to walk through 90 minutes too. Get a lift to an away match in Chertsey area for 2ko. Back to pub in New malden, chat with football friends (we run two teams). Order food and watch Norwich v Liverpool. No doubt when we get home he will have X factor on and I'll be on-line reading forum postings here (and on APAT). And then match of the day. Sunday morning will be breakfast and Rugby World Cup. James will be at Secombe Centre in Sutton for final rehersals (he has volunteered to do back stage scenery work for the week). This is the Scout County Gang Show. James will no doubt chat to everyone about his 3 weeks at the World jamboree in Denmark, Sweden and Poland during the summer. I'm going to have sunday lunch and watch the Man Utd v Man City game. I'll then be picking up on-line how you all are getting on. ![]() James and I will find some time during the week to get the Betfair WSOPE chipset out and play some deep stack Heads Up NLHE. He'll have all his poker gear on, his cool shades for spending summer in lots of sunlight, the shirt, his headphones/music. I'll not even look at my cards and get my reads from his actions. His feet tapping is a dead give away. |

As it seems there are a couple of shirts with my name on (which is better than a couple of bullets with my name on). After the event can one of you post one of them to me?
Even though loud - sounds just the item I need. And seem's as iconic as one of those legendary Betfair hoodies. Thanks. Nick |

My team have respectfully requested that we do not update the forum as it would be quite insulting for the losers. As such we will leave it to the losers to tell you what's happening. Final insult will keep you all up to date.

Sigh, that went well.
I take small pride on winning the last longer for the 'A' team... fitting that I was knocked out by the last remaining player for the 'B' team. |

I was enjoying a pre match drink at the pub down the road from the venue, when '2 dogs' walked in, the first thing he said was you're heading for a fall pal. He was of course refering to all the banter that has gone off on this forum and facebook regarding the 'A' team v 'B' team challenge. He was quite right, a good judge. About an hour later I was one of the first out, most of the damage being done when my raise with 66 was called by 74, I hit trips but he made a straight on the river, sigh. I was followed unfortunately my one after the other of both the Betfair Forum and ILPP team players. The requirement to get on the scoreboard was to get to the final 50 of the tournament. Not one player from either side managed this. So We can't even claim an honorable 0-0 draw, because in reality it was a massive defeat for both sides. It was very disappointing result but on the upside the tournament was as ever excellently organised, the company fanastic, it was great to make some new friends, as well as renew old aquaintances.
One final achievement over the weekend was when Keith S (late reserve for ILPP) took a 6 way split about 4.30am in the £30 freezeout tournament winning £400. |

LOL ... mporter: I take small pride on winning the last longer for the 'A' team... fitting that I was knocked out by the last remaining player for the 'B' team.
Good to know that as I now have a bounty to pay and will take joy from that!! Appollo ... remind Keith S that he needs to share his side event prize with the rest of the ILPP team! On a serious note, thanks to all who took the time out and made the effort to join in at the weekends festivities. Thank you also to Betfair and finally to any apat organiser who might come across this thread, congrats on a well organised event at an excellent choice of venues! |
