I think GusDenmark1 played this all wrong after the flop. The check by both on the flop has to be followed up by betting out first on the turn card. a 6810 flop (two clubs as well) is a scary board even for someone who hits trips - so unless someone flops the nuts you naturally expect any one who got some of that flop or is holding an overpair to bet out on the flop.
A player out of position would absolutely bet the turn card if he has something (even a smaller pair). So for me - this move - [/b]GusDenmark1: bets 6340 and is all-in[/b] was daft and the call on the river not quite as daft as it might look at first glance.
If you are bluffing the river, then even half pot (circa 3000 would have been enough) as you will see from my my thread: http://community.betfair.com/poker/go/thread/view/94146/28209711/love-it-whe...
there was a bit of movement on the turn card and the bluff on the river was a 3000 chip raise (NOT an all in)

i don't mind the call on the river as much as i mind the call pre with AQ and 43o....
i'm actually quite pleased to have been able to get out of the way with my resteal!

Yeah, why 34 is calling pre flop for 25% of his stack after a 3 bet is loopy. Now where is this gizzetti, and how quickly can you put me on a table with him [:p]

but - what sort of hand would you give him credit for? I've no info on the s/b and would have thought that AQ was about the least likely think he could have to call my reraise...

Well we already know the SB hand but I'll be as honest as i can with the info.
I think He Jams with AK KK QQ. SO for me his range is AQ, AJ (unlikely) JJ 1010 99 88. It's a decent flop for JJ and 99, and an excellent flop for 1010 and 88, but also a very coordinated flop. The last thing he would want is for the flop to go Check/check/check as there are so many bad turns. So i think with any of these 'paired' hands he leads and then calls any Jam. AQ or AJ would check fold this flop and i'm pretty sure that's the intention. So i think his hand becomes face up when he checks the flop [;)].... I know i know his hand lol.
There is a very small chance he might have played Aces or Kings this tricky, but again, i think he has to lead on that board.
Glad you're well mate.

thanks bud... it's always harder to analyse imo when we know the hand (I should have hidden his cards!). I always had the original raiser on trash (or high cards) but couldn't ever see the s/b calling the reraise with something as weak as AQ. I think that's the very worst hand he can possibly have and if i lead then I'm only folding AQ and all the others are going to ship or call and I'm struggling to improve other than my 4 out gutshot...
anyway, again - I'm not arguing as I'm sure you're right. I just wanted to explain my thinking (such as it was)
thanks again mate. appreciate your views.
