Seppo doubles up off Tonu again when he calls on the turn for all his chips on a Q high board with AQ and Tonu only has K9, no K on river.
What a legend, still 2nd behind Tonu but the forums adopted son is now a real flying Finn. ![]() |

Small break before heads up play and Seppo Jokisalo has around 1.25 million chips and Tonu Soodla around 950k.
Do I know who to adopt on your behalf or what? Come on Seppo! ![]() |

Excellent work Dave, really makes for a good read. We need more forumites to win things though. The Finnish guy was on my table for the first 12 or so levels - as mentioned, he played a great game so was delighted to see him perform well.

During the break our two finalists decided to split the cash and just played for the title so after two blind all ins the tournament was won by Tonu Soodla and the legend that is Seppo Jokisalo finishes a gallant second after his AQ was brutally rivered by 63!

Now sat in Helsinki airport feeling rather tired but at least I have free Wi-Fi.
Then again everything else seems so expensive here that I have already more than paid for it just by buying a rather weak orange drink. |

Thought you might like this, someone elses summation of the final days play.
Betfair Poker Live! Tallinn 2011 Main Event - Triumph on Home Turf The final table of Betfair Poker Live! Tallinn 2011 main event, that lasted about six hours, became the shortest in the history of popular series. All the finalists were in belligerent mood and did not think too long over important decisions. Before the start of the final table many considered Ola Brandborn from Sweden, who has the victory in 2008 Swedish championship under his belt, to be an outstanding favorite. The Swede started right off the bat, trying to set his own rules and dictate the play from the very beginning. Opening with raises and 3-bets every other hand Ola grabbed a lot of small pots and consolidated his leading position. However, Jörg Perleberg from Germany thwarted Swede’s progress and by wresting a couple of big pots from Ola and questioned Brandborn’s captain-of-the-table reputation. The paths of the short stacks diverged at the first level of the day. Marek Boczkowski and Mikko Pisto somewhat predictably headed out the door (€1,724 and €1,933 respectively), whereas Seppo Jokisalo playing under Betfair banner picked a much needed double up and insured himself against quick elimination. At that point one could hardly guess that the Finn had much more ambitious plans. Meanwhile the second stack of the final table Tõnu Sodla made his presence felt for the first time. The Estonian knocked out his countryman Imre Leibolad, who received €2,194 for his seventh place finish. Ola Brandborn resumed his pressure on the table by snatching the rest of the stack out of Teemu Kankkunen, who finished the event at the sixth place (€2,821). The Swede improved with K-J vs. pocket fours and did it twice. Right before his exit Teemu’s pocked queens run against pocket kings of Henri Käsper, but this double-up did not help Henri much. With the blinds starting to increase Käsper had to widen his open-raise range. Henri’s bold all-in attempt with 5-6 suited was coolly neutralized by Jörg Perleberg who called with pocked nines and ousted Käsper from the competition (€3,500). Here came the moment of glory for Tõnu Sodla. The Estonian pulled off an amazing bluff against Ola Brandborn. After forcing the opponent out of a huge pot on a high and very coordinated board with two flush-draws, Tõnu triumphantly flipped over 7-2 off-suit! To his credit, Ola did not lose heart and delivered a real battle to his Estonian opponent. On the board K-7-J-Q with two spades and two clubs he instantly called Sodla’s all-in and tabled pocked queens. Unluckily for the Swede, Sodla, who had A-2 of spades, hit one of his outs. The 10 of diamonds became the final river card of Brandborn’s day (€5,225). Given Sodla’s overwhelming chip advantage over his opponents many believed that the matter was settled. Seppo Jokisalo, however, thought differently. Within 15 minutes Finn managed to double-up twice, both times through Sodla. After eliminating Jörg Perleberg (third place and €7,158) with A-A vs. A-10 Seppo narrowed the gap between Tõnu and himself to just a few thousands chips. With the stacks being virtually equal the heads-up rivals opted for a safe path and sealed a 50-50 deal. As for the title and the trophy, the players decided to leave things to chance with all-in in the dark. With both hands tabled Sodla’s prospects did not look rosy. The Finn had A-Q whereas the Estonian flipped over mere 6-3 off-suit. However, the deck was very kind to the local player. A miracle 6 hit the river and made Tõnu Sodla the winner of BF Poker Tallinn 2011 main event. Both finalists had an impressive payday of €13,062. Final standings: 1. Tõnu Sodla (Estonia) - €13,062 2. Seppo Jokisalo (Finland) - €13,062 3. Jörg Perleberg (Germany) - €7,158 4. Ola Brandborn (Sweden) - €5,225 5. Henri Käsper (Estonia) - €3,500 6. Teemu Kankkunen (Finland) - €2,821 7. Imre Leibolad (Estonia) - €2,194 8. Mikko Pisto (Finland) - €1,933 9. Marek Boczkowski (Poland) - €1,724 10. Arvi Meeksa (Finland) €1,567 |

More shabby than you? Seriously, will you not let this rest? OK, for the benfit of the forum, I will state the facts.
1. I actually do like you and think that under other circumstances we could actually be good friends. 2. You can't turn up wearing a gooner shirt and give me grief about being a Spurs STH when you've NEVER even been to a game (I beleive you actually tried to say you sit in the Ruud Hullit stand at the Emirates until your bs wasn't pointed out to you, lol) 3. Despite you not grasping the English humour/banter, I tried 2/3 times to shake hands and move on but you kept raises the banter stakes and told me to FO. 4. Given what had already come to pass with our banter, it was sods law that we would end up on the same table in the main event and yes, I gave you dogs abuse and put you off your game so bad you ended up getting battered by the bird who was playing Angry Birds on her Iphone the whole time rather than playing poker. 5. Yes, I did laugh a huge amount when she knocked you out and i even clapped you up the stairs as you left - but what else was i supposed to do after you kept giving it? 6. I did poor beer over you at the after party and for that, I do apologise - but I was very, very, drunk. 7. I did see you naked man wrestle Klup. 8. I still love you and can't wait to see you at the next event ;-) |
