Bad plan if so.It'd be much better to keep the software and persuade another network to join betfair poker. Do you agree?

That would deffinitely be my line of thinking as well - though I fully recognise, a mere fantasy. I like the basic layout and the comparitively low player traffic makes it more of a community - it's my cup of tea.

Cue a reality check though - and the current software is littered with bugs and is always one step away from freezing / crashing. Imagine the problems that would occur with double or triple the traffic!

Too unstable, too unreliable. There is no way Betfair could sell it to other operators as it currently stands.

The solution is to join a Network. In truth, they probably could afford to buy out an entire platform outright, but in this economic climate, that would be extremely bold.

I dont want Betfair Poker to move - but many of the forumites have reiterated their concerns week in, week out - and their complaints are fully justified.

Good plan, 2 or 3 years ago.  Now seems too little too late.  If they have bought another platform then I might try it out, but I have enough ipoker accounts already for one lifetime though.

I hope Betfair poker doesn't move. I think as Klup said, a great community of players. Makes it seem more personal tbh.
In the current climate I seriously doubt Betfair are gonna change anything poker wise though. At least that's what I hope.

Re TheMudDog

Ive played on numerous sites and this is definately one of the friendliest and has got a great community spirit even allowing for the negative numpties.
Ladbr0kes was really good as well but that all changed when they went to MG.
As the saying goes 'You dont know what you have til its gone'.

They need to fix 'REMEMBER FOLDED CARDS' option
Report Froggitt June 5, 2010 10:01 AM BST
imho 'REMEMBER FOLDED CARDS' is too complicated for mere software to work out.....possibly needs some kind of neural network or one million drone pcs worldwide to compute that.

is cr@pto still around? :)

"Too unstable, too unreliable...  The solution is to join a Network."

Surely the solution is to get a decent IT department that the business can have faith in, rather than the current situation where they are terrified to make changes because they make the system worse rather than better.

I think the software has been pretty good for the past year. We all cry when it crashes but so do all the other sites. The differentce with Betfair is we have a forum to air all our grievences.

I've suggested to Betfair in their Q&A's that they buy out some of the little guys, not for their software but for their userbase. Traffic is low and needs increased imo.

So you change the software, and lets be bold and assume its the muts nuts.  Poker software to beat any and all others without question of doubt.  You would still be hugely handicapped by the customer service staff.  After all, evolution takes time...

BF poker was finished the day they decided to take Chumps.

how, i an evolving online poker world that decision was ever made i just can't understand.
Report jamesbeckton. June 5, 2010 1:48 PM BST
If they joined ipoker I wouldn't play on the site as you can get better ipoker r akeback deals than bf would be offering. I reckon they are gonna join another network as they now sponsor almost no pros and have stopped sponsoring the wsope.

imagine greeks/cypriots on ipoker...no chance! the tag army would absolutely eat them alive.
Report akabula June 5, 2010 3:44 PM BST
Not a great deal wrong on betfair. A bit of tweaking needed tho and the forum is a good safety valve for letting of steam. I've played on party and bfred frequently in recent weeks and yet to see any conversation at the tables other than ffs, fo and other such niceties. Even this type of 'chat' was minimal.
