Regularly potless, always chirpy and only ever not talking when there's grub on the table. Why this big friendly giant hasn't got a long list of big finals on his CV is beyond me; to put it simply, Russ is one of poker's greatest ever underachievers. He possesses an awesome knowledge of the game which really isn't reflected in his live results. I'm not alone in recognising his talents though, Betfair value his written word and the online backing agency Badbeat signed him up too.

Not convinced? Play him heads-up, you can choose the game, I'd back him every time. Perhaps his true calling lies in coaching, an area that must surely explode soon and provide a lucrative income for the right guys.

I agree with Hawko.

Spent 30 minutes at a table with Russ and he turned out to be a cracking fellor. Obviously highly rated by a lot of people within the game/industry as he is constantly offered backing, plus as has been said, has written articles for Betfair and fronted 'Bad Beat'.
