Yea min buyins, hit n running are tilting.

I think they should def introduce some 50bb min buyin tables + 60min time before returning to table with less than you left with.

Wonder if they'll listen to one of their sponsored pro's.
If they don't then we may as well all give up!

The best tournies are the $100 5K and 6 shooter (thinly disguised I have won the 5K twice and the 6 shooter 3 times since they restarted in probably less than 10 attempts at each). By contrast, all I ever do in the turbo pursuit is get completely tilted.

5k $100 buy in is prob best regularly held tourney for your better players. Haven't satted to the $3600 turbo as yet. Think Doobs knocked me out heads up in a sat then went on to win the main tourney! I think when I rejoined Betfair back in Nov 2006 there was 2 nightly regular tourneys, the 11k and 16k gtds. Can't remember the buy in of the 1sy one but 2nd one was $109 and had plenty of sats to get into it. The 2 tourneys seem to compliment each other very well. Don't know why they were stopped unless they weren't making their gtds.
The 2 tourneys that constantly get me are the $3.2k deepstack and the the $10k turbo (or previous versions.) Still sticks in my mind now, on the bubble of the latter, sb, get dealt KK, big shove, get called by 85 off, hits 85. :(

Data is a moron. He does play after he has sat out and stored 1000s of hands on a player already. It is a disgrace that betfair allow it.
Report Dooberama November 12, 2009 10:47 AM GMT
He is not nearly as annoying as Corleone though.

He sits on the seat exactly to the left of the fish, but then doesn't play until everybody in the other seats starts playing. He then sits out immediately the fish busts and expects the others to keep the game going until the fish returns. It is pretty irritating when you are probably sat in the worst seat playing some sharks heards up or 3 handed just to keep the fish interested. And all that time Corleone just sits there and waits.

Nothing more annoying when somebody is sat out in the perfect seat on a full ring table, and you can't boot him as the table isn't full. And you know if you settle for the bad seat, Corleone or Data will then pop up in the perfect seat :(

And to be fair to data he does carry on playing right down to heads up to keep the fish interested

would we rather they had one spokesmen promise the earth and then find out he cant deliver or give them chance to speak to senior management as the post says and give some actual answers/solutions?

you have given lots of problems so lets give them chance to respond to them. I think in the original post they expected maybe a few little complaints that could be easily dealt with and not so many serious ones which need a bit more time to deal with.

sure many of the people on this thread have worked for big companies before and there are procedures to follow which take time. they have now identified problems with the help of you all so they now need to come up with solutions to all these problems. implementing the solutions will be the final stage obviously.
Report Mavis "Hacksaw" Handbag November 13, 2009 12:35 PM GMT
It's obvious to me that they've made a bit of a boo-boo here and expected feedback on tournaments etc rather than collusion... I think the phrase 'caught with their pants down' is quite apt!

They've now actually got to think of a reasonable reply as to why their poker site is filled with colluders and they have never taken any action against them, refunded anyone or disclosed any information, despite months/years of asking from their loyal rakers!

No wonder they are buying time...

Anyone that's done anything similar to this ariston will know that leaving it until the day they were supposed to respond, to fob people off for another few days is just going to annoy people even more.

Like I said this has nothing to do with speaking to senior management etc and everything to do with the sudden realisation that they have a lot of angry customers who want answers to questions they have been asking for years!
Report Six of Clubs November 13, 2009 12:46 PM GMT
its not like this has come as a surprise ffs, thread started 29th oct and on the 5th (last thursday) they knew exactly what the points were that required a response.
it was their own timeframe they can't adhere to, not one we have imposed upon them. for someone to start a thread like this and either not make preparations to get answers within their published timeframe, or to not anticipate a vigorous response is just plainly ridiculous.

To anyone else who is genuinely happy with yet more fobbing off, what about all the responses recived from 'senior managament' before? It may as well have been some guesser from the helpdesk.
Report Jim Hensen November 13, 2009 3:14 PM GMT
I can see both sides here and both valid really. Yes, to get a "proper" response it worth waiting for, and if it takes a little longer to get right then so be it. But the other side, (which is defo not a big/small company issue), is simple customer service and communication.

A professional company would have done one of two things. Stated midweek that more time was going to be allocated in order to put more effort into a final response, and gave some insight as to why that it was beneficial to both sides. Better still answered some of the points, perhaps partially to show good will, and offer a sincere reason as to the delay for others. The response given is quite simply treating your customers with contempt.

You would like to think that the collusion issue requires a lot of input and is not going to be put right in the sweep of one broom, but as of this point noone knows if it is being taken seriously or just in typical BF fashion.

Personally, you can solve the collusion, the software, and the mtt schedule, and if you still have a customer service standard and attitude as it is then I would still not play here. No point in passing messages to a doctor via the disease is there?

They mugged everyone of their customers off today with that pathetic post, yet STILL are defended by a few people on here.

"They need more time and didn't realise collusion would need to be discussed" seems to be coming up a lot.

20 Mins and just 4 posts after Betfair asked you what problems you have, Dooberama first mentioned collusion. They have had more than enough time to think about, discuss and formulate answers to every question raised on the thread.

Another revised mtt schedule, with lots of GTD's and and promotons. Throwing money at the problem, which will go down well initially but will be odds on that it is not backed up with intelligent thought and probably chops and changes a few times with plenty of errors and silly things like sats and leaderboards causing the goodwill of the money thrown at it to be eroded.

A long lipservice post regarding collusion that sounds good, (written by PR type person), but fails to do what it should and has holes in it when read properly and considered. Will be finished with a promise of further transparency and technology sometime in the future, (also known as never).

Balshy claims regarding the software mostly vague, with the exception of some that are immediate which are futile.

No mention whatsoever of the competence of Poker staff, Customer service staff.

The words HOT and commitment will be overused in the prepared reply.

50-100 people will return for a look mainly because of the overlays and promos. Online pokers answer to faulty towers will continue to operate day to day as it was before and the players will once again disappear. BF will hold another review and ask why it is not working. The answer will be that certain markets are hard to please, and others are not so lets us continue to pump money in to Eastern Europe, Greece, Cyprus etc as at least they do not complain!

Software aside which i dont think is to bad. Why don't they just copy the format of the good sites. They should be able to make it work unless of course the damage is already done. With the betting site theres so much potential customers their. One thing i think they have messed up on is the wsope. I'd say its cost them a bundle in relation to customers gained. Surely that money could have been better spent on decent promotions.

I have played on betfair from time to time. The software is ok. However most good sites have decent mtts starting regulary with a decent amount of runners. Betfair need to try and get a mtt schedule and give it time to build numbers. Having gtd mtt's and then changing after a short time because they are not making the numbers is wrong. The constand changing of the mtt schedule just annoys players and turns then away.

why do you allow people not in the game to make comments as an observer? GOOD WAY TO PASS INFO DONT YOU THINK?

The trouble is anfield, new mtt schedule or not, managing day to day things needs to be done by people with more than 2 braincells between them, a reasonable understanding of poker, and a prerequisite assumption that the customers is in fact [usually] right.

I'd put my house on it that the underlying issues cannot/will not be resolved, and therefore the seemingly positive efforts that may now be made with regard to collusion/mtt/software will in fact be a flawed plan.

I could be wrong, but I doubt it very much, unless someone shows me a link to a few dozen jobs advertised for front line staff, then I shall not be around waiting in hope.

Why would you wish to make any post in relation to collusion when it will only upset people. If you say you do very little about it (which is entirely accurate) people will be upset, if you say you are getting tough on it it will be a clear lie. Do not ask for time to see changes as it is obvious it is the same old rubbish. I am embarrassed for you Betfair. You refuse to ban colluders so that you can keep taking fees from them, that is such short-sighted business. You lose more in fees from genuine customers boycotting the poker site due to **s than the fees the **s pay. Who currently works for Betfair as Head of Fraud? The Eagle?

TTT for Betfair. Now perhaps you could try and answer people's questions properly this time :) (Not mine though, I think you're site is fantastic).
