Though i would start a thread for the small cash players,i have been multi-tabling(4 or 5) cash 25/50 tables for one month now and played 65000 hands. My stats are ok and i have made a modest 5 BB and also achieved the 40% cake back of approx(£850 for the month) so all in all i am pleased for the month HOWEVER..

i look at my leaks and find my non showdown winnings are plumetting! basically i am playing like a tagfish,it is good i have found a major leak, but do i make changes a bit at a time? is 65k hands a good sample? i realisethat c betting loose playersnow isnt the answer!!

I am looking at playing full time hours next year and realize that it is important to change and improve your game, other sites i played at a higher level and lost,i guess the first thing is playing at this level although grinding more has helped turn the corner, and for a student who is willing to learn then i am enjoying this experience.

Anybody else like to discuss small stakes NL or have anything they can recommend??

Thanks

what site you playing

tbh tag seems to work best for me at those stakes cos of the oppo

people just keep calling
Report canaryboy December 31, 2009 8:03 AM GMT
btw just wait til you run bad!

you using HEM?
Report racing revenue December 31, 2009 9:04 AM GMT
playing Betfair (came back mainly because of the software and the 40% cake deal) also noticed only based on 65000 hands i have been underdelt AA KK QQ by 65 times total compared to 220/1 average,so not had the greatest of luck with premiums.

major worry is this non showdown losses, they always call, it almost seems it would be worth playing a better quality of player,i guess i will have to try and**the leak a bit at a time,on a plus note i guess i am still winning
Report racing revenue December 31, 2009 9:06 AM GMT
Yes i use HEM,i find it good to analzye a session, but although i am gradually adding more stats to my HUD i currently on have 8 showing. Would you recommend a stats/stats for this level??
Report garybet. December 31, 2009 9:26 AM GMT
I remember reading that TAG players dont usually have decent NSW stats and even losses may not be a problem as long as your WTSD%
is around 25% or better.
Report canaryboy December 31, 2009 9:27 AM GMT
the only stat that matters is profit

different stakes play differently

wanting to reduce your non showdown losses seems like wanting them to become tight

but it's their looseness which is helping you win

that's what i think anyway

you can try changing your style and see how it goes i suppose
Report canaryboy December 31, 2009 9:29 AM GMT
mine is 27.5% for the last quarter of a million hands
Report racing revenue December 31, 2009 9:33 AM GMT
Thanks for you advice, i think i will try and c bet in position abit more and try and make a few small changes but 1 month isnt really a good sample.Next year going for a big year of small stakes, might even go for the 1/2 million betfair points!! after all hit 42000 in dec and i here there are good incentives for getting over half a million.

frustrating game but great.love it
Report racing revenue December 31, 2009 9:34 AM GMT
mine is 30% over 100k data base sample, guess i am calling a bit to much!
Report canaryboy December 31, 2009 9:34 AM GMT
you must be new to it then

you'll hate it in a few months

glad i don't have to grind any more to get by

a nice little extra income
Report racing revenue December 31, 2009 9:35 AM GMT
W$sd is 52%
Report canaryboy December 31, 2009 9:36 AM GMT
mine 59.9% fwiw!
Report racing revenue December 31, 2009 9:36 AM GMT
going to see how it goes for a year, dont the need the income but going to play as though i do, more interested in improving and understanding the game, also playing a bit of live later in the year, maybe a cruise or vegas.
Report Dooberama December 31, 2009 9:42 AM GMT
mine 59.9% fwiw!

Mine is 48%, and I think that is about right.
Report canaryboy December 31, 2009 9:47 AM GMT
i don't think i've ever really wanted to improve lol

might explain why i'm so bad!

but as long as there are plenty worse than me, i'll keep playing
Report canaryboy December 31, 2009 9:48 AM GMT
what does the figure actually mean

well in poker terms anyway
Report Dooberama December 31, 2009 9:52 AM GMT
I am sure I read somewhere on one of those what your stats should be threads, that it should be between 45% and 55%. Above 55% means you are probably folding the best hand too much. Though it may have been 45% to 60%%??

I feel mine is probably too low, as I can be a bit of a river fish at times, but sometimes you have to call the regs or they will start to walk all over you.
Report canaryboy December 31, 2009 9:58 AM GMT
hmmm ok

it's when i turn into a station i just bleed money

not sure if it makes a diff that at lower stakes there are more people calling raises
Report canaryboy December 31, 2009 9:59 AM GMT
so more vulnerable to someone having it?
Report shrewdbury December 31, 2009 9:59 AM GMT
was thinking about this myself recently - I play low stakes and find myself feeling a bit too tag at times, folding against most aggression, although winning some decent hands of course. Problem is that being tight against fish relies on actually getting decent hands a good proportion of the time, otherwise you just eat away at your bank steadily.
Report canaryboy December 31, 2009 10:02 AM GMT
the problem with me playing lag is that it eats away at my bank rapidly!
Report shrewdbury December 31, 2009 10:11 AM GMT
true. no solution!

My problem at the moment seems to be continually missing flops - just not connecting even with good starting hands eats at you after a while, as you end up folding to raises most of the time.
Report Ilovegreece December 31, 2009 10:12 AM GMT
the greeks are the cause of this. they love to call.

and also achieved the 40% cake back of approx]

How did you get a 40% deal please? TY :)
Report Peter Parkers brother December 31, 2009 7:10 PM GMT
On £850 I mean I thought you could only get it if you rake 15k or something in that region.
Report racing revenue January 1, 2010 3:05 AM GMT
40% is only if you cake over 30000 bf points which is £1500 per month,i think you just opt in,they emailed me.

To work out your cake get you betfair points for the month(found in statements) x 0.05 then x 40%
Report spackers1 January 1, 2010 4:13 AM GMT

Great new Jan bonus up to $2k (deducted from gross cakeback) but still nice!! Thank you betfair
Report racing revenue January 1, 2010 11:12 AM GMT
Just took the $1k bounus option so basically if i rake 40k betfair points (approx £2000 or $3200) then the first $1000 is mine and the remaining$2200 is at 40% so a nice little bonus
Report racing revenue January 1, 2010 11:14 AM GMT
I have opted for $1k bonus so if i cake 40kbetfair points(approx£2000 or $3200) then the first $1 is mine and the remaining $2200 is payed at 40% so a nice little bonus

how any hours a day u play racing?
Report racing revenue January 3, 2010 11:42 AM GMT
average about 2200 hands a day so only about 5 when 5 tabling. I dont go mad but fitting 35 hours a week in is comfortable, i also enjoy my drink so i tend to not play fri and sat nights!
