im a player, only to the end of the winter season though as standard is poor

yup I play twice a week in a couple of local pubs.
It's quite fun and free to play. While not exactly WSOP standard at least you get some experience of live play.
At the end of the season you can qualify for your regional final, and if you get through that you get to play in the national final at Stoke-on-Trent. You can win a couple of grand (I believe if you win the National).
Frankly I am not sure I would be bothered to go all the way to Stoke, but friends have done and quite enjoyed it.
