Anybody use hold'em manager for sit and go's??

And if you do, do you find the "luck adjusted winnings" graph accurate?

i'm no expert but im fairly sure it uses standard icm calculations which just take into account the % of the *****in play you have , the prizepool and the equity of your hand when all in

however i find that it gives me results for 9-handed but not 6-handed games

Thanks Stigger.
Do you find that it is representative of what is actually happening?
The reason I ask is that my actual line and the luck adjusted line are a long way apart (admittedly only after around 130 games) - and I'm trying to work out if, as according to the graph, I have been running bad - or if I am not actually playing too well.

i know exactly what u mean i went through the same process myself

130 games is a very small sample size, im up to jus short of 550 games and what u will notice the more games u play is that the ev line and your true profit line will have smaller deviations

this is demoonstrates what people term as variance

look me up on sharkscope.i play on ft and my screename is 'my name is ste

i started playin stt from about 2250 games onwards.began like a house on fire but have had a slump in the last 3/4 weeks.however the general trend is upwards

daft as it sounds i actually pay more attention to my ev line as it a truer reflection of how im doing. if u keep that goin in the right direction your profit will take care of itself

hope this has been of help to you

I must be as daft as you then, because I've been doing the same..lol
Just wanted to check that it was representative.

Many thanks.

unfortunately your ev line cant be used to pay the bills. i ran over 5k below ev the last 3 days of november- you cant give the bank manager a copy of a graph from HEM to pay your motgage ;)

i must be a luckbox then as my luck adjusted ev is nearly 3k less than my actual ev lol!

No wonder with that username!

your obviously playin at higher stakes than myself guys but am i right in sayin you r playin mainly cash

if this is the case am i right in sayin there is more variance involved in cash due to it bein played with deeper stacks?
Report richpickns December 12, 2009 8:05 PM GMT
i play little cash onine and i dont think i imported any cash hands so just stts and mtts for me

deep stacks decrease variance, cash has much lower variance than stts or mtts as the blinds are static - thats why cash shd be a players bread and butter and mtts the icing on the bg fat fking cake shamon
Report stigger December 12, 2009 8:36 PM GMT
can i ask what stakes a nd what kind of mtt/stt you play?

mtt gotta have the highest variance of all the games , yes?

hope u dont mind me bein nosey , its just im always lookin 4 opinions to help my game selection
Report stigger December 12, 2009 8:37 PM GMT
meant 2 say what mix of stt/mtt u play
Report richpickns December 12, 2009 8:46 PM GMT
sure no problem - my stats are about 75% stt and 25% mtt, stts are from $30 to $200 and mtts are from $30 to $300

and yep mtts have highest variance, stts also have a lot of variance, non cashing streaks of 5-10 are not uncommom for a +ev player nevermind a -ev player
Report richpickns December 12, 2009 8:47 PM GMT
i have only just got Holdem Manager so have only looked at top line stats - its looks very useful, any tools/functions in particular you would highlight?
Report aristonandon December 12, 2009 8:49 PM GMT
i play mainly cash. around 70k hands per month but mainly as a short stack which reduces variance a hellova lot as its more about volume and the beats dont hurt as much.

how many bbs do u usually buyin for Ariston?
Report TJM December 12, 2009 9:57 PM GMT
IIRRC the ev graph for mtts only counts bubble/money spots? therefore mtt results are pretty useless. sng is ok. so i think you should ignore mtt results and filter it for 6/9 players max and show a true reflection of sng. mtt is better to just look at your ROI, % won % itm. and review big hands or exit hands.
