first few hands of a $109 mtt on stars... no info on oppo.

blinds 10/20 you each play 3000.

folded to the button who raises to 60. you are on the bb with JJ. you decide to call and see the flop. Flop comes T84 two suited (you have a J of that suit). action:

you:check
button: bet 100
you: raise 280
button: pause... raise 560 or so

what now and why?

why is it an easy fold soap?

because I assume you raised for info and just got it.

If not raising for info then either raise pre or bet out flop.

no i raised cos JJ is normally miles ahead in that spot lol if I lead, a tight player will often pass.

so i thought that if I c/r then I get something more out of the hand...

however, I didn't expect to get repopped.

strength of my hand is pretty disguised here surely. I can be making this move with (what is a pretty scrabbly flop) with any top pair and sometimes any pair at all...

from his perspective, my hand looks a lot weaker than it is. hence I felt he could be raising strong top pair against my (probably) weakish hand.

in my experience they are not many moves at opening level of multis to win less than 5% of stacks.

He has AT and is donk small percent of time, many others 88 - AA of which your losing to almost all.

I would probably have reraised pre flop
