Report Waheyyyy November 18, 2009 4:18 PM GMT
Betfair are apparently bringing their brand new updated all-singing all-dancing especially-designed-for-poker ZX81 out in the New Year.

This isn't a stupid question. I bought the laptop I'm playing on now mainly for playing poker on. When I started it up there is a load of desktop icons which I've never used and won't. That could be got rid of straight away and replaced with icons to all the leading poker sites, already installed and ready to take you to the site with best cake etc. You get free laptops if you sign to certain isps so why not a free laptop if you deposit so much and play at a specific site? This could be arranged when you buy the laptop/computer. I want poker to override everything and the computer to stay as quick, and connections reliable as the day I bought it. I want the resolution to be set so that I can play as many games as I want as easy as I want within the confines of the screen size. Build me that in please. List all poker sites that I may be interested in from a teaching/news point of view and give them a star rating. Probaly loads of other poker related stuff that could come installed. Instant access to sharkscope, poker tracker etc for a trial period. Somebody should pick up on this and produce a poker laptop/computer.

Thinly vieled"i`m doing really well at poker and i can afford a new laptop" (gl btw)
Report McCoy Carp November 22, 2009 10:23 AM GMT
No, happy with the one I've got - despite all the rubbish on it. Now a 28" maybe 30" monitor to replace the 22" one on the main computer...................

good thinking batman :-)
Report GHADDAFFI. November 22, 2009 11:38 AM GMT
judging by the response you got you obviously posted your question on the wrong forum.
Any poker player with more than 6 months experience would know exactly what you mean .
try the forum for Lego fans
at least you might get an inteligent answer
Report Waheyyyy November 22, 2009 12:33 PM GMT
Ghadaffi, I have over 6 months experience of playing poker. It was still a stupid question lol. Everything that was then suggested the 'poker laptop' could be made to come with, you could put all that on any laptop yourself in 30 minutes. Unless you're reading your lego forum at the same time then it might take an hour :)
Report 1hearts November 22, 2009 2:07 PM GMT
Well said Wahey. Gahdaffi is slavering **.
Report 1hearts November 22, 2009 2:11 PM GMT
Is there any laptops, computers out there designed specifically for poker?

That's the question.

Computers are designed to run Sofware. You can put whatever software you like on them. You can remove any software you like from them.
What changes could you make to the design of a computer to make it specific for Poker?
Report MC Roller November 22, 2009 3:17 PM GMT
I tried joining the lego forum, but they blocked me.
Report McCoy Carp November 22, 2009 3:37 PM GMT
Not all of us are computer literate. Part of the reason I play here and not anywhere else is because I don't want to ar$e about downloading software - I had enough trouble with Betfair - as easy as it probably is. But if someone bought me a computer with everything loaded as above, I'd be over the moon, best present ever. So why doesn't such a product exist? Do you not buy specific computers for gaming? Why not specific computers for poker?
Report Waheyyyy November 22, 2009 3:43 PM GMT
I think you may have hit upon a great idea here. Get together with Ghadaffi, make a cardboard cutout and present this idea to the Dragons. I'll be rooting for you ;)
Report Waheyyyy November 22, 2009 3:47 PM GMT
Carp, tbh if one knows not much about computers/poker then it could be a good idea, however, I very much doubt anything like this will ever be made.
Report McCoy Carp November 22, 2009 3:59 PM GMT
I'm on the case. Colonel, where are you? ;)
Report Bishy November 22, 2009 4:53 PM GMT
