Agree with Virgin - A decade of virtually trouble-free connection. I highly recommend it

bethere.co.uk

No traffic shaping and low contention ratio.

Second vote for bethere, never lost a pot due to disconnection in a year and a half with them.

Zen broadband is the nuts.

1st ignore half of the suggestions above.

2nd get a specialist provider who does not traffic shape or limit at peak times etc. Avoid the mass market big names.

3: Consider those who offer specialist gamer service or priority accounts for a few quid extra a month.

4: Do some research at http://www.thinkbroadband.com/

5: Choose someone who offers monthly contract so you are not tied in if their service dips. Those who were good last year get swamped and their service level can dip.

I'm with the premium package from IDNET and happy with it.

I spoke with mine yesterday and they advised that they have a program of updates in the next 7 weeks, (all publicised in advance), and that this is largely to keep up to date with BT upgrades which are going on at a large pace. Therefore it is likely that a lot of isp's via BT will experience some issues in the coming months.

As wonky says, how well they manage it the question, and in general avoid the bigger names.
