I heard these spanners in the first week, and thought they can't sing, can't dance and appear to have no redeeming features.

I have a liability of about £700 and can probably green up at the cost of £50 or so.

The question is when will the British public tire of voting for them? For instance, they eventually worked out that the Thai girl on Big Brother was pretty loathsome, and Chico was sussed out despite having way more talent than Jedward.

Or are they so bad that people will just vote for them to win to get back on the judges who put them through in the first place?

So let it ride or cut my losses?

I saw them 'sing' in the 1st week... cost me £120 in the groups market :(

wouldn't be surprised to seem them in the final 3

Get out of it for £50.

I usually bet and often have nice green books on the reality/talent shows, but I got out of this one within a couple of weeks of the live shows.

I just don't trust the public, management or production company on this one - too easilly manipulable. I'm steering well clear.

Have put up £50. If that goes I will be on for losing £400 or £25. I think that looks better. I may still have to put together the jedward voodoo doll. I don't even watch this sh it :(

They won't win but could go far.

There is a LOT of Jedward haters once the numbers thin out they'll be voting for the other acts to make sure they don't win.

Our local radio station are biggin them up this week. Set to do the themetune to Ghostbusters and I expect it will go down well this week. I'm not a watcher, but have noted that our local radio seems to have good opinion on it.

Why not try x factor forum. I did by mistake when I came inp1$$ed from darts Tues night and thought what the hell is this, thinking poker forum. So much love.
Report chipfire227 November 5, 2009 4:13 PM GMT
doobs you have absolutely nothing to worry about. x factor always works like this, in the early weeks people are voting for the act they want to keep and not the act they want to vote off.

as a result the acts that tend to go early are the nondescript ones with no back story, irrespective of their vocal ability.

every year an act simon hates gets sufficent protest votes to survive deep into the contest ( remember those wretched brother/sister dudes that sang songs from high school musical every week anyone ? ), but you can guarantee as soon as these chumps finish in the bottom 2 they are dead in the water. and as the contestants get whittled down the protest voters will be outvoted by the genuine voters.

you may have to wait a few weeks, and they may well trade shorter, but they CANNOT win. itv bigwigs will string the viewers along for a while yet, generating income from phone votes and publicity, but there is no way on gods earth they will give a million quid recording contract to these apes and make a mockery of their flagship saturday night show. they wouldnt kill the goose that laid the golden egg
Report wingdings2 November 5, 2009 9:49 PM GMT
Chipfire is 100% correct.

Musical reality shows are a bit of a pet study of mine. This years x factor is playing exactly to type. Jedward will last another 2 weeks at which point the gathering votes behind the main protagonists will see them drop into the bottom 2.

Simon Cowell will be secretly delighted that they have stayed in this long, whilst better acts mentored by the other judges have exited, also the publicity they have generated helps boost viewing figures and media interest.

Joseph is tremendous value at about 5.4 at the moment, will defo be in the final 2 and will therefore trade much lower.

if thats the geordie kid, then i have to say i agree. the lovely cheryls only hope of winning, so he should get plenty of attention near the closing stages, and has zero chance of finishing in the bottom 2 once lloyd gets the axe, as he will get all the teeny vote .
Report wingdings2 November 5, 2009 11:35 PM GMT
Yes, Lloyd is the weakest singer after Jedward, only his teeny appeal keeping him in there at the moment, he may well go this week.
Report enjbenjy November 5, 2009 11:44 PM GMT
Should have went last week ffs. Rachael was good.

They are great and i hope they win just to** of cowell!

Cowell is a disgrace. How can you sell your dignity when you already have £123 million in the bank.
Report Semi Skimmed Milk November 9, 2009 3:12 PM GMT
It's that attitude that made him rich in the first place unfortunately.

Like John 'Goldfinger Palmer' who got caught committing a £40m timeshare fraud when he was already worth £300m.

These people just don't know when to stop as they get carried away with their own success.

Exactly teeth. My point was, these people think they are unstoppable. The more they succeed, the more it drives them on and ultimately greed will be their downfall.
