In the schedule released this morning, the EPT has announced a brand new event: EPT Snowfest. This looks to be more than just a poker tournament. It's going to be a ski vacation in one of the most beautiful parts of the world. Saalbach-Hinterglemm, Austria's Alpine Palace will host the 3,500 Main Event March 21st - 26th, 2010.
as I just stated on blonde
I played the ECPT there this year. They seemed to struggle with catering/accomodation etc for 100 people, so not sure how they will cope with several hundred for the EPT. Beautiful spot though, though it is pretty low lying so snow isn't guaranteed.
I still wouldn't mind a trip back. I would also add that a room in the Alpine Palace itself was way better than the alternative I was given.
According to "Where to ski & snowboard - 2007", It rarely snows in the month of march, and almost all the slopes are south facing so a good risk of deteriation at that date. That said they get a reasonable pack beforehand. It does not mention any easy access to higher resorts either. Otherwise looks a good place.
I'd be pretty hacked off getting there and not getting the snow, but I do quite fancy it. Another gamble I suppose.

There was snow there in April this year, but conditions were exceptionally good this year, and there were lots of bare patches by the time we left on one side of the valley. Not sure how many lifts were closed but I am guessing at least 25% by the time we left.
