i deposited a large amount, larger than i can reasonably afford tbh, 6k, i played for a week and got it up to over 80k

however now i appear to have hit a wall and it is down to 40k

should i be glad for the profit, it is after all, 34k or so (plus a reasonable amount of pie-back)

or really really mad that i have "lost" 40k ?

odd situation for me really, as i havent ran well for a long(ish) time, and by that i mean them missing their ridiculous draws, and my big hands holding up.

this sint a brag, its a serious question about how i should be looking at things

Mick

PS, it wasnt really them big numbers, i just wanted to pretend to be loaded for a while, it seems to be the in thing these days, figures are 60, up to 800, back down to 400, i am a self confessed peasant

Its a question of perspective.

If you view it that you had £60 and now you have £400 and you won £340 you should be pleased but if you view it as you had £800 and you now only have £400 therefore you have lost £400 then you should be unhappy.

The crux of the matter Mick is are you a glass half full or a glass half empty kind of guy?

Well done mick, 34,000 is a decent amount. Whilst playing out of your bankroll is wreckless all is well that ends well. So withdraw 30,000 and buy your house outright. The remaining 4000 if your good enough is more than plenty to keep yourself away from peasant stakes for a long time to come. Ignore begging posts from bust forum peasants and dont stake anyone else other than yourself. Now upgrade to a proper poker forum also.

i'm a technician/engineer type oerson

hence the glass is twice as big as it needs to be ;)

i am happy withthe win, so i'll take a few days off as now i have enough of a roll to play my peasant stakes and hopefully not need to deposit again (for a while, my bg management sucks lol)

and spot the person who missed the important bit in the first post, says it all really

As an engineer you should know that this was the scale model, now that it has passed verification stage, you need approval from procurement, (Mrs Apples?), in order to move upto to full size protoptype testing. Good luck, (with procurement that is).

You should and will be unhappy, its not simply a glass half full thing.

for example

you have 3k bank you lose 2k then win 3k = 4k you are happy

you have 3k bank you win 2k then lose 1k= 4k you are unhappy

The money is the same but the psychology of betting deems one scenario better than the other. Anyway just my thoughts, so wallow quite correctly in your misery and gl.
