In the 5.30 at Kelso the well backed Stick Together finds itself as the current 3.8 favourite. A small but competitive filed where there is very little to chose between five possible winners. Stick Together is not the safest jumper of fences and at 3.8 is well worth taking on in my opinion.

A horse that is favourite at around the 4.1 mark is todays Opposable Favourite in the 4.40 at Kempton. Triple Charm is up again in the weights and is up in class. This is a very competitive handicap and Triple Charm from a wide draw may just use up too much energy getting to the forefront on the race. He has also dwelt on previous occasions so a lay to back strategy could be useful here. We have at least 5 others on our side today all capable of winning this.

This afternoon in the 3.35 a favourite which is too short in my opinion and is well worth opposing is Nisaal. Yes he won last time out and because it was a conditional jockeys race he carries no penalty today, but it was not the greatest race and everything went his way that afternoon. He went from the front then and under the same jockey probably will do so again today. We have six others on our side who are more than capable of winning this and at 2.56 he is worth taking on. Going from the front he may well shorten up in running early doors and it could be possible to lay at 2 before they are half way around.

3.35 Newcastle Nisaal - Lay

At Newcastle in the 4.40 race a possible opposable favourite is On Gossamer Wings. He is a steady perofrmer but with just one win in fifteen outings and that was off a mark of 79 he is opposable today. He has been raised another couple of pounds for another placed effort last time out and with at least another four possible winners in the race I think he is worth taking on at 3.45.

In the 3.30 at Kelso Freddie Brown is a short priced favourite on what he has done so far and with five others on our side all capable of winning, then he is opposable at 3.45.

Looking at the 4.25 at Newbury for a favourite thata looks as thopugh its opposable and in Gibb River we have the ideal canditate. When he was last seen he was never a threat and dint beat a sinbgle horse home in a listed Handicap won by Raya Star. Yes that was his second race back after a long lay off and possibly suffered from the bounce factor but another 97 days on I think its worth taking him on in tjhis competitive Class Two Handicap Hurdle. We have five of the remaining six on our side, each of them capable of winning this on their day. The Henderson/Geraghty combination is a powerful one in the betting markets and often lead to a horse being underpriced and at 2.76 a lay of Gibb River is the recommendation.

4.25 Newbury Gibb River Lay. 

In the 4.50 at Wolves the favourite Cape Samba didnt show me anything to think that he was a obvious favourite for this race today. With three other possible winners to oppose him with then at 3.3 I think he is well worth a lay.

Is it a sane thing to oppose a champion like Hurrucane Fly? I think it is at his current price of 1.79. He did look to wander in the closing stages last year and with Binocular back to something like his best and the likes of the up and coming Zarkander and Rock on Ruby to contend with it could be worth opposing Hurrucan Fly today, 1.79 is very short against quality animals.

3.20 Hurrican Fly - Lay.

In the 4.25 race we have Dawn Commander fav at 3.6, in my opinion the horse does not have enough in the book here to be favourite for this competitive handicap on his handicap debut AND WILL FIND AT LEAST ONE TOO GOOd for him this afternoon.

Mark Johnstons horses may be in decent form but it will take more than that for Always Eager to get bhis head in front in the 2.10 at Lingfiled. An apprentice handicap this afternoon where at least five are in with chances. I think they are more than just hoping that the extra distance will help the gelding improve along with the switch in surface. Taking it that Johsntons horses normally improve after their seasonbal debut then at a very short 3.05 Always eager is worth taking on.
