i started the year with a win at the hyundai tournament now to follow up with a second win on the bounce hopefully.
the sony open is played at honlulu the course with the stiff sea breeze and an average winning score over the last 5 years of 14.6 under.the course holds one of the lowest driving accuracy percentages on the tour so the winner is likely to be ranked in the top 50 in the world for scrambling a par from the rough.
with the difficulty of finding fairways it is also important to have good course knowledge and the last 5 winners had all had 10 previous rounds or more round the course so we can eliminate several players from the starting line up.
rookies for the last 3 years have not entered the top 10 and there are a few rookies this year again.
next onto putting just like the hyundai tournament a good putter is required to finish the hole as 4 of the last 5 winners were ranked in the top 60 for strokes gained putting.
unfortunately we are left with 10 players who fit all the above criteria they are
webb simpson
matt kuchar
zach johnson
scott piercy
ryan palmer
brian gay
kevin na
pat perez
charlie wi
brian davis
the top 3 in the list interest me but im going to put my biggest bet on WEBB SIMPSON AT 20 ON BETFAIR
