It's not been the best of campaigns for Billy Jackson. He hasn't made an appearance in the final in the Winter Season which started on the 24th June. A big ask today for Billy and needs to recapture his form in the Summer Season where at times he produced several world class performances.
Unfortunately for Tim Stone, he''s now lost his last 15 games in the Super8serieS and sits bottom of the Champion of Champions table. I'm sure he'll be looking for a big finish in Tournaments 3 and 4. I don't think the run of defeats will continue and I expect the world number 21 to start showing the world class talent that he's produced earlier on in the year.
Mark Royal goes into today with an event win under his belt on his last appearance two weeks ago. He played superbly and cruised to victory in all of the round-robin games. Royal then went on to beat Phil Rowlands in the final in a long but entertaining 81 minute match. The world number 9 is the in-form player and I expect another a final for Royal today.
It was surprising to see Nicky Brett finish in last place two weeks ago. He's been unstoppable this year and has produced some outstanding performances in the Super8serieS. Brett ended up losing all 3 of his group games which allowed Greg Harlow to overtake him in the Champion of Champions table. He's a world class player and I'd be surprised if we see a performance like that again. I think Brett will take his 8th event win of the year today.
