It was another good performance from Phil Rowlands three weeks ago. He finished runner-up to Greg Harlow but I thought he was unlucky not to claim victory in the final with how he was playing. It's surprising to see Rowlands as statistically the fourth best player going into today with 46% of his games won this year. It's a very difficult group of players but I think he'll create some problems today.
Robert Paxton currently sits in 6th place in the Champion of Champions table. He should really be in the top 4 but surprisingly he lost all 3 of his group games on the 6th August. It'll be interesting to see how he performs today but I expect he will pick up 1-2 victories.
Another player pushing for an overall top 4 finish is Mark Royal. He will have been disappointed with not making the final on the 12th August. A very good all-round player and can beat anyone on his day.
If Nicky Brett can claim his 8th event win of 2013, he'll be in pole position for the Champion of Champions. He's been superb this year and I'll definitely be investing my money in him winning the Scottish Open in a couple of months. Statistically, Nicky Brett is the best player in the Super8serieS claiming 71% victories in 2013. I fully expect Brett to go all the way today.
