sorry that should read first stage of catalunya*
also i think nfl and cycling are pretty tactical in terms of game theory and i enjoy both. also thoughts on amstel gold? henao or maybe tom jelte slagter could get up that ramp first at big prices? |
By:
I had a treble with two football matches that won leaving me a tidy sum on Sagan for Amstel Gold, think it might have been one race too far.
By:
i went big on gerrans 16/1ew with skybet after i realised the course was changed and they were doing 4 places! i wasnt surprised sagan didnt get up with the first group. looking at fleche wallone atm, but not betting until purito status is confirmed.
By:
I've taken Sagan at 17/2 with Pads. That price is surely too much of an overreaction to Sunday. I've also baaked a few at small steaks each way, Betancur, Ulissi & Mollema. Main bet Sagan though.
By:
Ulissi is not doing the Giro (or TdF). Scarponi is their GC man.
By:
sorry i keep after timing but i never expected gilbert or sagan to get up the hill and place layed sagan 9/4 and layed gilbert 3/1. i backed dan martin vs vannendert at 7/4 too.
other cycling bets this week- i went for lampre 300/1 in the trentino team time trial because Sky and BMC looked way too short with those lineups. massive stab in the dark- ive piled into rolland for liege 150/1ew sorry i forgot about scarponi, i guess ulissi has no chance then. wiggo at 6/4 will be my play for giro (im assuming he will drift) |

Ive done Nibali 12/1 ew with billies, & Samuel Sanchez 33s and Kreuziger 40s with joke orals, cos they're paying 4 places. They've all got decent records in this. Sanchez looked like he's in decent nick in the Tour of the Basque Country.
By:
I like Nibali e/w too
By:
I'm intrigued by Saxo Tinkoff's team for the Giro. It looks to me like their main GC hope is Rafal Majka. Not someone that is very familiar to me, but looking at his past results I've had a little dabble at 300/1.
By:
Also took some of the 25/1 for young rider that Stan James were offering about Rafal Majka, into 5s now.
By:
Got santambrogio e/w at 200 for the Giro. Podium play. Getting anything on ap at long odds is a struggle...

I have a bit up on my blog for this years giro

Its a total joke they havent even got Stage 2 markets up yet
By:
Everyone seems to be after Bouhanni today. I'm not convinced the sprinters will get over the climbs.
Gatto, Felline and Pozzato for me. |
By:
Paolini was the last one I crossed off the shortlist yesterday
![]() Today Santambrogio has obvious claims, but at a bigger price I've taken Betancur and Sammy Sanchez |
By:
Both mine in the final group but the rain put paid to any chances of winning. Sprinters favoured again tomorrow but I dont think so.
By:
Two for today both 33/1 4 places
Marco Marcato Sacha Modolo |
By:
bouhanni for me today..e/w.
should be another good day. |
By:
marychain1 (and anyone else interested) you should start playing the 'GIRO STAGE PREDICTOR GAME' at Podiumcafe dot com - Yes you'd be 5/6 stages behind but it's still good fun. ;)

im doing Wheelie bets giro competition with Dan Lloyd and co.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0ApflsEuZf-EGdFJwbXgwaXBEYWRQU2gxQkUtNmZvbEE#gid=0 On Wiggins and Kessiakoff today. Think one to watch is Johan Le Bon of fdj |
By:
Taken £1.34 ew on Johan Le Bon at 600/1 with Bet £3.65. Awaiting confirmation of what price im allowed for my other £3.66 ew.
By:
Johan 500/1 at bv mary.

What a joke Betfair are. Neither Wiggins or Evans listed in the "Rider in Pink" market even though they are probably the two most likely candidates at the end of Stage 8.
Loads of potential podium names missing from the Stage 8 winner & top 3 markets as well. Sort it out Betfair. |
By:
They take their rider lists for the stage markets from bet 365 and ignore anyone over 200/1
By:
No betting up for tomorrow's stage
By:
ps thanks Dope- Podiumcafe a good site.
By:
Taken Evans and Pozzovivo for the Giro Spreadsheet today.
Backed Evans at 14/1, Atapuma at 40/1 and Duarte at 80/1 and had a little tickle on Machado and Millar once the break formed. |
By:
bad weather predicted for the whole week, bad news for Wiggo. Hope Nibali delivers, as I've layed Evans and Scarponi
By:
well...couldn't help but have a small interest on Sammy Sanchez today [S 11]....That profile will suck me in every time...
By:
I don't suppose there's much chance of getting this Declan guy commentating on the TDF. He seems to know his stuff and doesn't feel the need for hysterics. Carlton Kirby really gets on my t1ts. Giro, Tour of California and Tour of Norway tonight.
By:
extremely boring race so far, hope it improves
By:
wiggo well and truly struggling cant keep up on flaT
By:
extremely boring race so far, hope it improves Agreed. I know part of Quigley's job is to talk things up, but couldn't believe it earlier when he was talking about what an exciting race it's been. |
By:
One more place available on the Giro podium now. Come on Mauro...
By:
was wiggins a fluke
By:
I think wiggins will retire
By:
wiggins looks like he needs a sandwich
By:
hopefully the tour will make up for this ordinary giro
By:
how many jerseys will nibali win in this giro?
By:
where has Sanchez been caught on the Galibier? Could have backed Visconti with my whole bank if they had shown this
