Little betting for this stage then? TJ ew? Spread between Wiggo and the field?

Someone find me a market with some interest!!

Should Clay and Sir Denis just have a fight and we'll bet on that?

Which should be shorter? Wiggins to win, or Froome for a top 3 place?
Report HoD July 20, 2012 9:14 PM BST
IMHO Froome for top 3 .... although hard to see anyone spoiling a 1-2. TJ is racing for something (just), Evans may want to go out in style, Sky's boys Porte and Rogers are arguably the 3rd and 4th best TTers left ... have they anything left in their legs?

.... and is a duel more suited to Sir Denis?
Report HoD July 20, 2012 9:15 PM BST
Why does that happen? Nervous hand on "post reply"?
Report laroche July 20, 2012 9:30 PM BST
Agree about Froome and, unfortunately, the market seems to be heading that way - just.

Would Millar be a bet for top 3 at, say, 25s?

Clay v Den would perhaps best be sorted by a tipping competition - say Top 3 finishers in correct order stages 19 and 20. Loser must change his username to lanterne rouge.

Winning margin of less than 30 seconds at 2.62 (BlSq) does not look a bad bet.
Report marychain1 July 20, 2012 10:37 PM BST
I reckon Wiggo wins this by 1 min plus. Its longer and flatter than the previous TT which will suit Wiggo better.

I bow to no one in my admiration for the Froome dog but I actually fancy Wiggo here big time

Slight concern that there could be a twist in the tale today for Wiggins, Tour gone so perfectly but sport not meant to be this straight forward, maybe a mechanical at a bad time...hope not...
Report marychain1 July 21, 2012 10:30 AM BST
Sky car will be right behind with the spare bikes. Could have two mechanicals and still win this stage, and the tour.
Report Dylan1975 July 21, 2012 11:37 AM BST
any chance Wiggins takes it a little bit easier today?? Has a 2 min lead so doesnt need to win the time trial, only way he loses the tour is if he has a bad crash.
Report bb66 July 21, 2012 11:53 AM BST
never in my life would bet on a time gap if the big fav has nothing to gain for putting in a 100% performance
Report Dylan1975 July 21, 2012 12:14 PM BST
agree bb even at 90% he'll probably win and thats assuming everyone else is 100% which is unlikely at the end of the tour but with such a big gap he doesn't need to push it. Im sure he'll want to try and make a statement but everything we've seen so far from Sky has been safety first and not taking any uneccessary risks. If hes feeling good he'll probably give it his all but its risky betting on it when he has a 2min gap.
Report buddeliea July 21, 2012 12:34 PM BST
yep,safety first.

Boring!!!

maybe a puncture or 2 for sky might liven things up!!

LaughLaugh

Is there a chance Wiggins lets Froome win by a few seconds as a thank you for the mountain stages to give him a stage win.Being last off he has control of his pace and knows everyone elses times and is in no danger of losing it.
Report buddeliea July 21, 2012 12:38 PM BST
one thing i would not be doing, and thats betting on the stage.
Report buddeliea July 21, 2012 12:41 PM BST
dont think froome would want that,if you cannot win on merit then should not win at all imo.
anyway Wiggins will go for it if hes strong enough, thats him.
Fair enough as well.
Report marychain1 July 21, 2012 12:45 PM BST
Safest option is to put in 100% and win the stage comfortably. I reckon he will win by a minute.
Report buddeliea July 21, 2012 12:48 PM BST
at least
Report BlockingBug July 21, 2012 1:04 PM BST
Wondering if Wiggo will save something for tomorrow. I don't think Sky will have the benefit of a nice stroll into Paris but they are committed to going for the stage win.

Probably not, can't see any value in Froome at current prices that's for sure.
Report padlock July 21, 2012 1:41 PM BST
can see wiggins winning by over 2mins
why is there  timetrials? surely all mountains would be better?
Report buddeliea July 21, 2012 2:08 PM BST
be better to watch if it were

TJ has a good shout at overtaking Evans on the road. That's going to be quite something. Chin up Cadel.

Team cycling is all about keeping your main man out of the wind, because the drag means you have to work 33% harder. ITTs ensure everyone is in the wind and riding for themselves.
Report Dylan1975 July 21, 2012 4:10 PM BST
ok looks like hes not taking it easy :)
Report BlockingBug July 21, 2012 4:12 PM BST
Looks like your minute prediction might be a trifle conservative mc. Seems to be a bit of an "I'm the boss" ride
