The biggest rematch in UFC history is finally here!!

July 7th, live on PPV from Las Vegas, Nevada:

Anderson Silva (31-4) vs. Chael Sonnen (27-11-1) [Middleweight Title]

http://sports.betfair.com/?mi=105999049&ex=1&origin=LHMA  The link to the market.

Tito Ortiz (16-10-1) vs. Forrest Griffin (18-7)
Patrick Cote (17-7) vs. Cung Le (7-2)
Dong Hyun Kim (15-1-1, 1 NC) vs. Demian Maia (15-4)
Chad Mendes (11-1) vs. Cody McKenzie (13-2)
Ivan Menjivar (24-8) vs. Mike Easton (12-1)

Fabricio Camoes (14-6-1) vs. Melvin Guillard (29-10-2, 1 NC)
Khabib Nurmagomedov (17-0) vs. Gleison Tibau (25-7)
Riki Fukuda (18-5) vs. Constantinos Philippou (10-2, 1 NC)
John Alessio (34-15) vs. Shane Roller (10-6)
Yoislandy Izquierdo (6-1) vs. Rafaello Oliveira (14-5)

this card looks amazing on paper compared to 147, lots of good match ups and good betting opportunities, not to mention one of the most anticipated fights in history! here's a quick preview.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cUOk7lrUM6Q&list=PL181FD7B4DB3F2832&index=1&feature=plpp_video

none of the undercard odds have been released yet, but on the main card i think tito could be pretty good value, i was surprised to see him at 3.5+ on some sites, on bet 3.65 he is currently at 4.00!
this will be tito's last ever mma fight supposedly and i can imagine him having a lot of motivation for this, and he was just inducted into the hall of fame. forrest on the other hand has seemed to lack motivation lately and looked awfull in his rematch with shogun. it kind of seems like his body is giving out on him in my opinion.
tito's boxing has looked a lot better recently which could make it a lot easier for him to set up some takedowns, and dish out some of his brutal GnP from the guard,  i also think stamina could play an important part in this fight, tito made his name through his cardio but at 37 years old its possible that he might struggle a bit. forrest on the other hand is 5 years younger but if he comes into this fight like he did against shogun it's going to be a tough night for him i just hope this rubber match isn't a split decision again. another thing to bear in mind is that tito has had a lot of surgery over the last year or so and he has said that his body is the best it's been in a decade

in the Silva Sonnen fight i think I'm going to avoid betting on it, there's so many different variables since they first fought, such as Sonnen's testosterone suspension, Silva fought with broken a broken rib (supposedly) the first time they fought, Chael has most definitely improved his sub defence, Silva is now 37 years old etc etc
i think Sonnen is going to use the same game plan he used in the first fight, bulrush Silva and hit that power double, i cant see Silva stopping Chael's takedown's at all, and i think Sonnen will be a lot more wary of the triangle when he's grinding Silva down.
on the feet, obviously Silva will have the advantage but he may be thinking about Chael's takedown's, i will be watching closely to see if silva throws any kicks if he does he may be thinking he will most likely be taken down at some stage anyway so its worth the risk of throwing some kicks. many people were surprised when Sonnen rocked Silva with punches twice in the first match, i don't see any reason why he couldn't do that again.
of course silva undoubtedly has the talent and precision to KO pretty much anyone in the blink of an eye which is probably why he's such a big favourite.

as for the rest of the card, i think chad mendes is the biggest lock of the night but the odds haven't been released yet  Sad
maia looks a bit overpriced to me, but i can see why, he's looked pretty bad in his last few fights. cung le vs cote is a hard one to pick, think I'd give the slight edge to le just because he's so well rounded and has the more dynamic striking, however his cardio worries me a bit and he cant go toe to toe with cote as his chin has looked shaky at times too and cote is a hard puncher with an iron chin.
on the undercard I'm going with Guillard and phillipou if their prices are decent when the odds are released

who's everyone else going for Confused

What a card.  Silva's price going out.  I'll be having a large bet if it gets any closer to 1.5.

Will this be the 'real' Sonnen that fought Bisping or the Steroids Sonnen from the 1st fight again Confused
By:

When: 06 Jul 12 00:00
he'll still be on steroids, just a lower dose, lol
By:
razz
When: 06 Jul 12 01:09
actually Sonnen never tested positive for steroids it was his testosterone level that he failed. its kind of hard to say why he was on it, could be anything from steroids to brain damage. im not that familiar with the storey but wasn't his testosterone level within the limits but he didn't declare it to the commission which in turn got him a lot of negative media.
By:

When: 06 Jul 12 01:33
Lol, anabolic steroids are synthetically produced testosterone dude... Sonnens test / epi test levels were almost 17:1, the allowed range is 6:1, a normal males is 1:1
By:

When: 06 Jul 12 15:48
true, i guess i meant that he actually was prescribed the testosterone by doctor's. so he's still on the trt i guess
By:
bris1
When: 06 Jul 12 17:55
I'm not sure he was legitimately on TRT the first time to be fair, he never provided any paperwork and those levels are way off what any 'real' doctor would prescribe. He'll have to keep within the 6:1 range this time out which is still too high really but those are the rules I guess.

didnt he declared his trt therapy to the right authorities? anywho just got back from a wedding, watching the tito ortiz previes on espn, damn i forgot how influential he was in this sport and how once upon a time he was considered one of the best pound for pound fighters of all time....
whatever happens tito will go down in history coming of this his last ever fight, he can reflect on one HELL of a career...
By:

When: 08 Jul 12 02:17
he said he did, then back tracked and said his manager did, then it turned out neither did I think...

actually think Ortiz may pull off the upset tonight, not sure Griffins heart is still in it and Tito will surely want to go out on a win
By:

When: 08 Jul 12 02:27
im not that familiar with the story tbh.
i cant believe tito is this much of an underdog tbh. im gonna pick tito who surely has the motivation in his last fight, he's going to put as much as he can into this fight,  i see it more of evens odds wise

Sonnen trash talking Mike Tyson now...
By:

When: 08 Jul 12 02:42
I think Griffin deserves to be the favorite but definite value in the price, potentially the same could be said for all the dogs on the main card apart from McKenzie who now I've said that will probably win by guillotine
By:
razz
When: 08 Jul 12 02:48
completyely insane that mckenzie is 6.4 to win outright, and 6.2 to win by sub Laugh dont think i've ever seen this before in a market. but its reallly hard not to go with mendes on this one.
watching guillard now, not sure what to make of this fight so far ..
By:

When: 08 Jul 12 02:54
i haven't been watching the prelims, only had 1 bet on the first and left the rest, wanted to play Guillard by stoppage but couldn't find a price

lol @ McKenzies price, aren't all his wins bar 1 by sub, with all bar 1 of them by guillotine?
