Short of gear failure or an unfortunate protest (radios again?) we all thing we know who should win this.

Some weather info:

According to Rob Webb, Regional Director of the Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, Monday’s start from Sydney Harbour, at 1300 local time, will be accompanied by 15-20 knot northerlies, providing an initial blast south for the crews, but this will be shortlived. Later that afternoon, southerly/SSWerly headwinds are expected to fill in on the north side of Bass Strait and up the New South Wales coast, although these won't be generated by a 'southerly buster'. Two days in and the weather on the south side of Bass Strait and down the east coast of Tasman turns into a lottery, with light patchy wind dominating the course until an area of high pressure moves in from the west later in the week.

Dear betfair,

I see that you have closed this market however the result is subject
to protest and sporting rules apply to the definitions in your rules.
Last year with the same rules you reopened the market pending the
outcome of a protest.

The first across the line Investec Loyal has been protested by the
race committee for outside assistance

I trust that you will be reviewing your premature settlement.

A reply now received from betfair and they will resettle the relevant markets if the protest affects the final results.

The description of the incident on the protest form is as follows: 'Audio recording of conversation between ABC helicopter and Investec Loyal seeking information from the helicopter of the sail plan in use on Wild Oats XI. In particular information as to whether Wild Oats XI was flying a trysail. This is assessed to breach 41 by soliciting help from an outside source.'

The crewman on IL discussing sails with ABC being the supplier of sails to Wild Oats XI.

Iirc Tim Cox was the also Chairman of the race committee last year when the protest was thrown out concerning the use of incorrect radios.
