UFC 140 - Jones vs Machida

insane some of these judging decisions... totally wacko

Soszynski, Homminick, Mir and Jones is the accumulator i am thinking about tonight... if I back it then someone will lose... if I don't back it they'll all probably win.

what odds would you get for that?

For every £1 get back £2.77 (includes stake).

i got makdessi for this one but didn't get a bet on in time

what you reckon to that accumulator?

looks good, but the ksoz fight could be very close

hallman could have cardio issues in this fight

Im more worried about a sub in the homminick fight or big nog doing something crazy.  I always favour Polish Experiment by kimura.

wow makdessi got demolished, didn't realise hallman had such a size asvantage

lucky you did have time to put it on

yeah, wouldn't of put lots on it either way

was that the last fight on ufc.tv?

hamman has one of the strongest chin's i've ever seen, dont know much about phillipou though

how the feck is he still conscious

1st main card fight up now, mark homminick vs chan sung jung, i got homminick but 1.2 is perhaps a bit short

fCKIN BOOOOM!!

Tho only banker in this game is Jon Jones

i didn't expect that

Little Nog to end Tito's career later

What's big Nogs cardio like? I ask coz Mir gases

Patrick here.

a lot of people said the same thing about ryan bader, nog's cardio is decent not great though, depends on how much damage he takes i suppose

im gonna go with ebersole, he has way more experience

Patrick for me there

what a boring cuunt Ebersole is

Must have won this

yeah patrick edged it but i dont trust these judges

****ing robbery. He won two of those rnds

it wasn't a robbery, round 1 and 3 were really close, could of gone either way, glad i greened up

I never gave Ebersole a rnd tbh

Nog was still available at 1/4 with the fight almost over!

i dont get why tito wasnt covering up his body from nogeira, he about to retire?

mir's odds are drifting, still going with mir though

what a kimura!!! amazing stuff

making me feel sick watching that arm break

Same. I have never seen a Kimura used to such devastating effect.

Can Machida put one of harate kid kicks on Jones

it's even more amazing after he was nearly out cold, and then submitted one of the best jiu jitsu experts mma,.

mad fight that. Unbelievable that someone with his experience let the fight take that route when he had him practically KO'd.

Was that not victory by Submission? If so, why did Bruce Buffer claim it was by TKO?

I think he heard his arm break and deciided to end it!

did he? i missed that

don't worry it will still count as a submission

I was on Nog there so no luck tonight really for me!

I was actually on TKO, but felt like I just committed daylight robbery when he claimed it was TKO.

After witnessing that, not even worried about the losing bet. Well worth it.

I need Jones here for a 12 timer. Snooker, football, NFL, darts!

7's got matched for mir by sub, thought it would of been higher considering

im so afraid of Lyoto now. I was cool earlier!

anyway i can't see this going 5 rounds, jones by tko @ 1.8 ish looks nice.

after witnessing upsets/dodgy decisions/amazing comebacks it's no wonder your nervous

machida won that by a margin

I can see Lyoto winning this 1/2 now

Jesus. That is some gash! Seen some brutal scenes this evening.

THIS. GAME. IS. BRUTAL.

goddam he's a monster!

Jones is a 6ft4 professor in the art of wrecking people

frightening

well done Armchair, 12 timer

i had jones by tko again ffs

scary thing is he relies on his reach so much that his striking can still get a lot lot better

cheers. I almost layed a lot off!

I'd have been disgusted to lay a penny back

i made that mistake armchair

I panicked. It all started to make sense. I was going to get shafted, but I just swallowed it

i cant believe i did that it was only 1 round and machida only landed a few punches, disgusted with myself wiped out all my winnings from the mir fight and then some..

haha always let it ride..every time i lay a bet my bet touches anyway...or so it seems

To be honest, I thought Jones would panick and get caught again, coz he's never been in a fight yet. In a way, I still think he did a little, coz he immediately went for a Takerdown

But it came off. To cause that sort of damage in a clich is insane.

off to the boxing!

exactly, good luck lads

oh god i should probably call it quits for the night, is khan worth a lay i wonder?

Nope, no chance.

i feel bad about chasing losses by betting on a 1.17 shot though

then again

No bet for me but I want Khan to win for the only reason to see him smashed by Mayweather! thats free money

shoulda called it a night lol

why has jones tko/ko been settled as a loser? machida didn't tap. John waved it off

because it was a submission

what a s hit night haha i could of layed khan at 1.07....

Mir's move was unbelievable, as good as it gets. nog was a few punches away from a ref stoppage, why he didn't keep hitting him I'll never know. Jones, what can you say? But there was a definete **** in the armour today, maybe Rashad has a chance... probably not.

Jones didn't win by submission, he got a tko with a submission when the ref waves it off and one party is unconnscious it's a ko/tko. A tapout is the only submission

Don't think so sabu, pretty sure a KO/TKO requires striking by definition. Could be wrong but fairly sure it counts as a submission.

why has my bet on ortiz vs little nog been voided

bet against nog winning by decision and bet was void

did people get their bets on the win market void as well?????

Did anybody get an email from betfair about the tito ortiz fight? I got one saying that the result has been voided, and I was just wondering why?

Yep got mine this morning....bet on Tito refunded :o

ole

shame it didnt happen sooner for the Jones lump on train.

same here? I was on Minotauro ffs why was it voided?

Jones didn't win by submission, he got a tko with a submission when the ref waves it off and one party is unconnscious it's a ko/tko. A tapout is the only submission

jones won by a modified guillotine it doesnt matter if machida tapped or not he won the fight with a submission

yeah i got an email too, i cant remember if it was that fight or not but one of them had the market up way too long, like after the fight had ended, or maybe the event didnt get suspended before the start of the fight so bets that werent in play didnt get cancelled .

Betfair do not have any rules relating to mma in the rules section which is a bit alarming. This should be sorted before the next event.
In last night events Machida and Big Nog both refused to submit so strictly speaking how could this be regarded as a submission.
Machida's loss by submission though  is less arguable than Big Nog's.In mma referee's intervene in certain situations when a hold looks likely to cause major damage(if an arm is bent in an awkward position is the most likely scenario).Should this still be a submission victory?.You could certainly argue both sides of the arguement.
Betfair needs to have a set of rules that punters can refer to in the rules and regulations section.

My bet on little nog was placed at 11pm last night and still got voided, thats bs.

Like they do with KO/TKO, they can just called it submission/T-submission

I emailed betfair about the ortiz fight being voided and this is the response I got

"I have had a look at the bet in question and the reason the bet was void. Is because the market was loaded as Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira when actually it was his twin brother fighting. So we had to void all bets and your money was never taking from your account. We only take the stake from the account once the bet has settled."

Lol so they got confused by the Minotauro brothers? That's a joke. Thank you Betfair pff...

Oh my god LOOOOOOOL

HOPELESS Betfair HOPELESS!!

same thing with my bet on little nog...but the funny things is that the market was loaded as A R Nogiero..so it was obvious to anyone that they were placing their bet on him and not the other brother!!!

I had a feeling they might have got the names wrong as I saw nothing wrong with markets being suspended too early/late as has happens in the past.  I didn't think they'd be so stupid though...

Thankfully I didn't have much on that fight but surely they should have used common sense?  I guarantee not a single person in the whole world bet on that fight thinking it was Big Nog v Ortiz.

I also think it's time they added some extra markets.  Go the Distance and Round Betting like they do in boxing would be nice.

I'll email them today.  The more of us that do so, the better.

As for Betfair not having any MMA rules, that's just scary...

i didnt have a single bet on it,didnt really have time to evaluate it,id have done hominick and jones in a double i think so glad i didnt.

Whoever said rashad has a chance against JBJ is completley wrong, machida is an elite striker who would cause anyone problems but at some point JBJ is going to get hold of you and when that happens the end is nigh, machida is better than rashad too by the way.

I still have a sore throat from shouting so much when Mir snapped nogs arm,i F in love Frank,so talented and methodical,Mir gets your arm you should tap or he is taking it home!! To come back like that while he was soooo close to being out is one of the best things ive ever seen in mma!

As promised in two messages above, I emailed them about adding rounds betting and this was their response:

Dear Templeton

Thank you for your e-mail.

Our Market Operations team have no plans to offer any additional markets to our MMA product as we are happy with what we offer.

We offer round betting and go the distance markets for boxing as there are 10-12 rounds in a fight compared to 3 rounds in an MMA contest or 5 rounds for a title fight (which is rare) and the volume on boxing bouts is far greater than that of the MMA markets we offer so things such as round betting and go the distance get priced up fairly well where as we do not believe this would be the case for MMA bouts.

I've just seen they've added round betting for Lesnar v Overeem!
