has there sth gone wrong with the Norwegians in preparation, or was this just a bad day @ the range causing an only 90% effort on the trails?

the run times were ok. i think bjorndalen was 3rd best there, surrounded by svendsen, boe, berger

but fourcade was really outstanding

What a fantastic way to start the new year with a World Cup event at Oberhof

Last years event had some barnstormers and it looks like the weather gods are conspiring to throw another curve ball.

Swedes to podium @ 8s looks massive with bet3.65, can't touch the big 3 in the win market.

Magdalena is distintcly average on her stand shoot, but that was one epic meltdown even for her. Incredible scenes!

Neuner needs to be at her very best to stave off Domerachava this year,and she isn;t finding that consistency easy, will be backing Darya tomorrow to turn her over again. . . . .

especially after some germans booed and then cheered when Domer missed one shot in the sprint yesterday, sporting as ever . . .

backing Darya in Oberhof is very dangerous, remember all the strange things that went wrong with her in previous years at that venue

yeh, the one dimensional commentators won't allow it to be forgotten, unlike them time and the sport has moved on so i say again - Domerachava for the mass start today

No doubt you UK based punters relying on the commentary for serious information are seriously handicapped .

Went over there and watched a race on British Eurosprt once - couldn`t believe how amateurish it was, they are worse than guessers with zero experience of the sport. Totally different in Germany & Scandinavia where it`s ex-pros giving their views...

seems a fair point RAPS, only have access to eurosport pundits, my interest in the sport really took off about 3 years ago (women's biathlon that is), the euosport commentators are terrible . They know a few names and constantly reguritate the same rubbish week after week after week. Just an infatuation with the banal. They keep saying neuner is the fastest skier but the times and more especially current form suggest that no one and i mean no one in the womens' races can currently live with Domerachava for ski speed, but of course that is only because of her ski preparation - the same bull they used when neuner, zaitseva and domerachaava started the last lap dead level in the second race of the season when domer beat them both off. Neuner was superb no question, but at least they could give domerachava the gredit desrved for getting belarus into 2nd in the womens realy and winning the mass start on sunday. Just ask neuner who she keeps looking over her shoulder for, she knows !!

Eurosport comms utter joke. Bigging up Neuner's chances for 10 minutes when every man and his dog knows shes pulled out, there was even an on screen graphic that had her as DNS ffs.

she was a bit sick but is now pretty much recovered. With the World Champs coming up they wouldn`t risk starting her if she was still ill..

BF seem to be slowly getting better tho - a few years back I had to regularly phone em up to point out that the races had started and request they turn em In-Play..

not sure about that, I have to email them every weekend to secure wintersports markets are offered, if I miss like last weekend to check all disciplines then some markets are missing.

They simply seem to have copied the result from last sunday when Neuner withdrew from the start.

Actually think you are right..I have to send E-Mails at times to get markets up too..BF are advertising on German biathlon websites but they don`t give a flying about winter sports..

Not long till we get our one week old Women's Downhill money back now from last Saturday.

Very warm in Ruhpolding today (13 degrees).

This mean mushy, wet snow - ski preperation will be very important today

France and Russia looks the most likely imo. Norway look weaker than usual.

im also surprised that NOR is favorite.
