Haven't had a close look at this, but T. Martin has been targeting it for a while, and as an evolving rider I'd expect him to give it a fair shake, and on that basis had a bet on him.
Cheers, SP

Well I don't know, has he? If he has considered it, he hasn't been very vocal about his "consideration". One thing to consider it, and another thing entirely different to actually come out in the media and be vocal about what then becomes more than a consideration, a real and direct target.
Don't think Cancellara will get the job, done. I think it's T. Martin's race, comfortably.

Why would he need to be vocal? If you think this hasnt been a target for Cancellara your watching the wrong sport. That doesnt mean to say he will beat Martin but im sure as soon as "Spartacus" knew the course he would have marked that down as his target for the year. Will be close run but I think his raw power on this coure will see him thro.

I would suggest he would need to be vocal to make his intentions clear, taking them from considertaion to assertion, from the backroom to the front yard. In any case, I don't like to operate in such hypotheticals. Anyone who is getting enthused about the chances of a rider in bicycle race on no evidence other than a hypothesis that he may have considered the race as a target, doesn't just need to start betting on a different sport, they need to stop betting. Otherwise the house is at risk of going. Ha-ha!

Loving this GPS TIME COMPARISON feature, trust the Danes to get things done properly, although I'm sure the UCI people had some say in this high level of professionalism. SP.

Cancellara, awkward corner, would have lost more time there. The Danes doing the cycling world proud though. Plenty of spectators on the course, people riding their bikes on cycleway beside a stretch of the course. Great atmosphere! SP.

Cancellara finishes in bronze, great ride by Wiggins for silver. T. Martin obliterated the opposition passing Millar on the course who is no slouch in the time-trial. What a great ride by T. Martin, humble in the interview and all.
Bad luck, geoff m.

I can't see any "bounce back" for Cancellara now, he won't win another time-trial in his career, I don't think. Not with the amount of talent out there, and T. Martin in the same race.

I knew Martin would smash this but alas didn't have the funds on here to get involved :( What prices were Cancellara and Martin available at?
Good ride by Wiggins though. Wouldn't have had him second after the Vuelta.

Millar came out prior to the race with a big wrap on Wiggins so I wasn't that surprised myself, but definitely a top ride coming so soon to the conclusion of the Vuelta as you say. Just before the start Cancellara was about 2.40+ and Martin was 2.10- I got matched @ 2.20 although he was over 2.50 at one stage just after the market was put up. After the first time-check Martin became 1.60 and then followed the 1.01 train to the Copenhagen finish, whilst Cancellara's price was going the other way. It seemed like Cancellara was friendless in the market prior to the race start so I was surprised by geoff m's comment about "bounce back" and what not. Like I thought after he won the ITT in the Vuelta, he was never going to be 3.50 here and wasn't.
Bad luck about the funds issue, BlockingBug mate.
