I agree. I've hardly watched athletics over the last few years and catching some of these championships has left me dismayed.
I was fortunate enough to grow up with (in no particular order) Christie, Thompson, Cram, Backley, Edwards, Black, Akabussi, Regis, Jackson, Hill, Jarrett, etc.
Jarrett's a prime example, I used to think he wasn't much cop as he 'only' used to get silvers and bronzes!
