Fair play to her. Flo Jo kicked the bucket at 39 on similar 'medication'.

Got to be thankful to Boiles for the shockingly short initial price on the Belarussian in the womens 100m that helped make the market.
Report bb66 July 27, 2010 5:15 PM BST
will there be markets for the women'S walk and the decathlon in time? I mailed them, and they answered markets may be loaded short before the start, but who will load them tomorrow morning?
Report mike4thecherries July 28, 2010 12:07 AM BST
No market for the women's 10,000 tomorrow night. Every other track running race on there.
Abeylegesse the one to be on when/if it does come up.
Report GlenCullen July 28, 2010 1:31 AM BST
mens 100m is interesting.  Quite like the prices on the outsiders this year. Chambers and Lemaitre could easily run 10.10 in the final, bringing others into play.
Report bb66 July 28, 2010 8:02 AM BST
FFS, still no market for decathlon!!!!

he had to work hard to win his run and stumbled after the line, took a fall
Report hcafc July 28, 2010 1:32 PM BST
Very poor standard this year, Rimmer could well win it.
Report 1.01 Layer July 28, 2010 1:32 PM BST
Thanks bb, I wondered why big drift on his price from 1.67 pre heat to 3.2.

Does anybody know what's happened to Susanna Kallur? I thought she was back from injury this year. I had her down as a cert for the 100m Hurdles. I think I'll lay Nytra, she's too short.

The British athletes need someone to sort out their attitude.  This evening is the first I've watched this championship and I'm ashamed.

Mark Lewis-Francis imitating a handgun when being introduced is lamentable.  Maybe he should rejoin whatever street gang he was involved in.  Or invent a time machine to go back to the 1930s when Brits ran 100m in the times he does.
Report BigMig July 28, 2010 6:57 PM BST
Hope Chambers falls flat on his face.
Report Don No1 July 28, 2010 7:04 PM BST
For me there's been no bigger let down in British sport in the last 10 years than Lewis-Francis.  I really fancied him to be a world class sprinter but he's gone backwards

Very nearly saw Gomes snatch then!

We seem to be top class at junior level in many sports but not at adult level.

I really don't think it's a coincidence and I'm sure we pay no attention whatsoever to the fact that different people grow at different rates/ages.

Too much emphasis seems to be placed on finding the fastest 16 year old and not those who will be the fastest adults.

I'm reliably informed by people have seen it that MLFs training involves turning up in a nice car, doing a few strides, strutting around then tearing off again.

Have to agree; i gave up on him years ago.
Report pwhite587 July 28, 2010 7:40 PM BST
Of course people fancied him to be world class. He was dominant as a junior and running around the 10 second mark at a very young age. He won World Youths, Word Juniors and European Juniors.

The guys attitude is complete garbage though. He believed his own hype as a junior and thought it would come to him on a plate. He didn't focus on athletics fully, didn't work hard enough and generally acted the prat. He rathered being off at parties where cannibas could enter his system than go training.

Any know what time 10,000 metres women final is due off british time??

In around 5 mins time...

Rimmer does seem a silly price now, marco and the polish guy seem pretty good value now, worth a punt without anyone world class in the field.
