Is he actually any good at time trials, his attempt last year was extremely ordinary in Annecy?? How does he compare to Sanchez and Van den broeck?

i think a lot of it comes down to what shape they're in and what their desire is at this stage. fancy sanchez to hold on to 3rd assuming his injuries are ok on saturday

well was thinking of backing van den broeck actually, based on last years final time trial, he covered the gap between him and menchov this year, beat him by nearly 2 mins?

Menchov has often bottled it at key moments. I've already backed Sanchez for a top 3 finish and I would not put anyone off having a decent bet on retaining that position. He might not be a top time trialist but he is not 30 seconds worse than Menchov and the 2 mins 30 + he has on Van Den Broeck should be more than sufficient.

Menchov won the Giro last year, you only have to look at Basso and Evans to see how putting all your effort into that can leave you spent by the third week of the tdf. Given Menchov has targeted the tour this year I'd expect him to outperform Sanchez in the ITT  but as GP says he does have days when his performance is inexplicable and he simply fails for no real reason although in the past this has tended to be a blow up in a high mountain stage. It is flat too which I feel favours Menchov. Just my thoughts, I'm not involved in this market yet, I may have a nibble.
