I know they swap it daily, so by that silly logic Hushovd will wear it on Sunday in Paris.. seriously though, Pettachi is surely 'under a cloud' right now with the allegations that have sprung up again, look at his ride today for example.. Hushovd may well pick up a few interm. points on the remaining days and Cav will win on Sat/Sun if they come down to a sprint.. I know Hushovd hasn't been great in the bunch sprints of late but he has a 3pt lead, has a far better chance of some interm pts and with Pettachi suffering mentally as well as physically, my money is (and has been for several days) on Hushovd.

Personally I feel there's a decent chance that Thor ends up with less points than Cavendish

Probably Pettacchi will go for intermed sprints on Sunday too!

Petacchi has to be a favourite for me, and a big one at that should he start tomorrow morning. If he hasnt been pulled out by then, he will surely finish.

Thor must get in another break tomorrow to have any chance in my opinion, and that means contest the two intermediates.
Petacchi will surely stick to his wheel at both Paris and the stage to Bordeaux just as he did on Stage 12 and neutralise any attempts at sneaking up the road, though the stage to Bordeaux could be in the wet, which Thor has stated he likes, so that could be the surprise stage...

Thor must magic some sprinting prowess though to do anything other that ship loads of points to Petacchi in the 2 flat stages left.
You cannot see Petacchi out of the top 3 and on the other hand you fail to see how on current form Thor can get into the top 5.
I really believe if Rojas or Ciolek wanted to they could have beaten him yesterday for the points.

If they run to form Petacchi should surely gobble up enough points.
Definitely Ale Jets to lose for me.
Though I'd like to be wrong.

Can someone explain what Cav has to do to win the jersey? He's available to lay @ 6's for 5 stage wins, so I assume he has to do more than just win the 2 sprint stages.
Report bb66 July 21, 2010 5:24 PM BST
It depends how many points the others collect, if Cav wins the 2 stages to grab for him and AleJet finishes 3rd twice he only makes up 18 points, and Cav doesn't chase intermediate sprints coz it seems to neagtively effect his speed in the final sprint.
Report Pbure July 21, 2010 5:27 PM BST
Alejet is faster than Hushovd in 90% of the sprints, plus he's a decent climber as well. Cav too far behind, whenever he wins Alejet and Thor will also be around.
