I suppose publicity makes compensation deals more expensive these days. Deschamps is probably a good fit for them

Deschamps has ruled himself out which seems to leave Pellegrini as the main alternative if the Hodgson deal breaks down.

A lot depends on the Capello situation. He clearly (well, as clearly as his 'English' allows him) stated he won't resign.
Whether the FA and him come to an agreement is a different matter but my guess is they'll stick with him. I think Hodgson's delaying is/was a tactic to allow him to wait and see what happens/ed with Capello and less to do with the Liverpool boardroom toil (which was clear to him before his talks). |

why do you think they will stick with him (Capello)? There will be huge pressure on them to make a change.

why do you think they will stick with him (Capello)? There will be huge pressure on them to make a change. They've just renegotiated his contract to remove a break clause. They'll be ridiculed if they then fork out compensation of £5m-£10m because of this. I think much of the blame this time will be with the players and that we don't produce the right type of players. I think Fabio's club record (which is peerless bar Mourinho) will cause this shift of focus. |

We have a 'Capello to Stay?' market:
http://sports.betfair.com/Index.do?mi=101500737&ex=1&origin=MRL It also made me chuckle to notice Harry Redknapp as favourite to be the next England manager! Not a chance. |

Well done to whoever laid Maradona at 500.

By:
strange how someone who is gonna be linked very strongly with the job in the next few days isn't even on the list
By:
Phone Betfair & get this man added then, easy money!
By:
owl4life, hesitation seems to be an issue, get him added. If somebody can get Maraodona added then I am sure that Basil Brush could be too.

I called Basil, but he has no intention of taking that job until the club is sold
By:
Come on then, own up, who persuaded betfair to add Maradona to this market? This has Brush indicators me thinks.

Liverpool Echo announcing done deal
By:
It does appear to be probable.
We will need a Fulham fred soon, I suspect but that market, I suspect won't last long. |
By:
It is not a market that I have played but I see that Liverpool are drifting on the Premiership win market. Surprising but even at 15.5-16.0 I am not the slightest bit tempted to back.

There are tiny amounts of money sitting under the radar if you are looking to shed greens. Moyes at 350.0 is the best one.
By:
There you go. It is official and on Liverpolls web site yet betfair still have the market open.
