Evans in the Giro, good price now to lay off later. Looks like his climbing is good after today.

Cover with Basso, his climbing was superb, even better with Evans. Don't go in heavy though on either bet though.

With grit like that Evans is worth a shot, even if he does not get anywhere, for the sheer grit its worth it.

Where is Evans going to make up 1 min 10 on Basso?

Basso is the better climber.

Evans has no team working for him, Basso does.

Basso is improving stage by stage, Evans is tiring.

I have now only got a small stake on Evans, the sport is corrupt and to pull away like that on the worlds toughest climb is questionable on how did he do it? I think Evans might just win this somehow, tiring yes but rest day today and to keep at it like that yesterday was excellent.
On your thinking why was Evans a short price when leading before the climbs?, everyone knew there were better climbers. Tomorrow is a key stage.

IMHO, he pulled away more to technique than anything else. Evans was constantly out of his saddle.Basso rarely. He's just a better climber.

and the second question?
Report Fluff$ May 24, 2010 8:43 PM BST
Not sure. Let's say he pulls back 30 secs on the 2 TTs. Where will he find the rest?
Report freebetterisbettertobe May 24, 2010 10:42 PM BST
I think after a rest day hes got enough on the climbs, we shall see soon.

A good performance by Evans today, but I still favour Basso as he still has a full team working for him.
Report Fluff$ May 25, 2010 8:13 PM BST
It will be decided before the final TT though imho.
Report freebetterisbettertobe May 25, 2010 9:40 PM BST
Still steep climbs left, Evans will be there or there abouts at the end, always is.

I've gone all green due to Evans performance today - with win on Evans if he wins the Giro D'Italia this year.
Wouldn't like to call a winner anymore its too close - if it was just between Basso and Evans I would not have greened out. But other riders can win this also from here.
Report Fluff$ May 25, 2010 10:42 PM BST
I agree others can definitely still win, especially if Evans & Basso focus too much on each other.
Report freebetterisbettertobe May 28, 2010 8:52 PM BST
Well who would have thought Scarponi would come into it also? and Arroyo would still be there?
Report seanpantani May 29, 2010 1:26 AM BST
excellent race so far....

tmw is for Vino - if the weather's crap - otherwise basso / nibs / scarp again.
Report freebetterisbettertobe May 31, 2010 4:03 PM BST
Evans did well, Vinokourov did well to finish in top six.
