After Cancellara's mighty performance last weekend, he must be a good favourite to score again. However, he may not get the same support from Saxo Bank this time.

I was very impressed by Matt Hayman's effort in Flanders, and think he will produce a big ride if his leader Flecha is not up to the job.

Got to be Tornado Tom for the hat trick.

Big Fab won't be able to jump away like he did in the Ronde.

Can't see past Cancellara or Boonen for this. Could be a cracker!!
Report Flying_V April 9, 2010 4:36 PM BST
Hushovd pour moi.
Report tashkent terror April 9, 2010 9:25 PM BST
Hope your right Flying V......I've been tipping him up for this one since last years epic ride.

Hope the race is as good as last year......carnage all the way thru (also does anyone remember that horrific motorbike crash into the crowd - hope they are all ok now).

Spartacus looks unbeatable this classics season but you never know in the hell of the north, one slip up / puncture and it's game over.....this is my favourite race of the year....can't wait.

Bring it on...GL everyone.

BRECHSEL at 11

Superb st Vlaanderen , the best bet available

Also has fast legs if it comes down to a sprint in a select group

Therefore Flecha no change ......
Report federalski April 10, 2010 10:30 AM BST
I'm going for Thor, god of Thunder. This is the one he has been talking up, the one he really wants. Expected him to be about 8/1 so a big price IMO.
Should be a cracker.
Report Flying_V April 10, 2010 11:33 PM BST
Yes, federalski...my thinking too. Thor has made no secret that this is his goal for the year..even above the points jersey.

we will see.

but if spartacus destroys everyone, I will still be cheering.

I think Hushovd needed to at least finish ToF to be strong contender this week. Same with Pozzato really. Two strong contenders who are going to suffer in the last 30k because of their sickness-hit preparation
Report Basketball Funds April 11, 2010 10:51 AM BST
Lars Boom has a decent chance of taking the race imvho.
Emotionally, I would love to see Hincapie at the top of the podium.

will markets be put in play before Arenberg forest?
Report Francis Benali April 11, 2010 11:29 AM BST
what do you mean? markets are in-play
Report Giles de Gauxbert April 11, 2010 11:33 AM BST
I am going to chuck a few quid at dandy David Millar.

Idiotic, of course...but he's in a rich vein of form and his head could just want to suffer in the right way.

wasn't shown on my screen, don't know why
Report tashkent terror April 11, 2010 11:52 AM BST
Anyone know what the estimated time is going through the Arenberg trench ???

Cheers.
Report GoBallistic April 11, 2010 12:32 PM BST
Probably about 1.45pm give or take 10 mins. Hopefully British Eurosport will be there in time

Report frippar April 11, 2010 3:08 PM BST

spartacus strikes yet again
Report frippar April 11, 2010 3:12 PM BST
why isn't Boonen going after him? why is he just staying back??
Report tashkent terror April 11, 2010 3:15 PM BST
What's the point.....Spartacus drinks rocket fuel for breakfast.
Report GoBallistic April 11, 2010 3:15 PM BST
Boonen is a bit embarrassed because he knows he's had his pants pulled down here
Report frippar April 11, 2010 3:23 PM BST
and he is not doing anything either. WTF is he thinking!?!?
booooooooo
Report federalski April 11, 2010 3:49 PM BST
Incredible Fabian, just incredible.
Report hOOd April 11, 2010 4:11 PM BST
It was a joy to watch that - top man
Report federalski April 11, 2010 4:54 PM BST
Think I'll go for a blast on the bike after watching that, been real lazy lately.
See if I can fend off an imaginary Thor and Flecha.....
Report GoBallistic April 11, 2010 5:22 PM BST
I was wrong about Hushovd. He rode an excellent race and in an average year would have been a good winner
Report Flying_V April 11, 2010 10:17 PM BST
Good on you GB. We were close but no cigar.

Spartacus...what can you say...?

Machine.
Report GoBallistic April 12, 2010 12:46 AM BST
With a bit more luck (and Haussler back) Cervelo may well be the strongest team next year but it won't matter for much if Cancellara is targeting these races again

It's a bit ridiculous when a guy can just ride away from a large group 50k from home and put 3 minutes into them into a strong headwind. I thought Leukemans' head was going to explode just trying to hold his wheel and he was one of the strongest of the rest
Report GPT April 12, 2010 3:06 PM BST
Spartacus is on the pop imo,no way can anybody ride away from a pack like that on their own without some help the extra power required is enormous.
Report johnnie allen April 15, 2010 2:16 PM BST
Think I might have been able to pull away from the field if I had a tv motorbike pulling me along like he seemed to have a lot of the time. And am I the only one who gets so irritated by the bloke commentating alongside Sean Kelly.
Report Handsome Frank April 17, 2010 1:30 PM BST
A great win for Cancellara.

In fact astonishing stuff, even better than the Ronde last weekend.

I'm not having it though. Seeing him high fiving with that ** Bjarne Riis at the end of the race turned my stomach.

I'm a non believer. :(
