Well chaps, on to Thierry Henry's favourite sport!

I'm sure we can find some money here, as Handball usually is a sport with only few low odds gubbings.

Group A:
Croatia
Russia
Norway
Ukraine
playing in Graz

Group B:
Denmark
Iceland
Austria
Serbia
playing in Linz

Group C:
Germany
Sweden
Poland
Slovenija
playing in Innsbruck

Group D:
France
Spain
Hungary
Czech Republic
playing in Wiener Neustadt

-------------------------------------------------

Favourites:
France, Spain, Denmark, Croatia

Teams with good chances:
Poland, Sweden

Teams with a possible outsider chance:
Germany, Norway and perhaps Russia and Iceland, but it would be some kind of wonder.

Possible low odds gubbings:
Austria (home advantage), Czech Republic (lots of czechs expected in Vienna and Burgenland Region, only 150 km from CZ)

Sweden and Germany preparing for the Olympics in London 2012 with young players and building up a team. Both stated their main aim isn't Euro 2010, it's London 2012. Russia a team still in decrease.

Scandinavian teams (Norway, Sweden, Denmark and I would put iceland into it) usually well organized and hard to break down.

---------------------------------------------------

Today's games:

Denmark - Austria
Russia - Ukraine
Spain - Czech Republic
Germany - Poland
Croatia - Norway
France - Hungary
Iceland - Serbia
Sweden - Slovenija

---------------------------------------------------

My personal view:

Will concentrate on Germany, Spain and France games today.

Germany: expected lower odds for Poland as they're a team playing together for the last few years now (instead of the germans who are just building a team up). Poland only has two important missings (Grzegorz Tkaczyk, Damian Wleklak) but Bartlomiej Jaszka who replaces both on their position also is a decent player in german Bundesliga (Berlin).

Germany definately will miss Pascal Hens and Sebastian Prei

Germany started well, Poland 2 goals up and look better. If Poland continue wasting 7m it could get a tight game.

Should have waited on Spain game, Czechs with very good start.

but only a good start :)

yeah leefee, Spain already in :)

HT Germany - Poland 8 - 12

Germany game no advertisement for Handball imo, strong goalkeeping, strong defensive work but both teams giving the ball away too easy, miss chances and a lot of fouls. Overs (which I was tempted, too, but thankfully left it) already doomed. 2 mins of good attacking play by Poland before HT were enough to go by 4 goals up.

Russia game (I don't watch) rather close, 2 goals up atm, as expected.

Denmark game closer than expected (3 goals up), Austria doing a good game but will lose.

thx leepee, you to later with tennis!

already green on Germany game :)

It's a pity that there's not that much interest in this on here and (except Germany game) not much liquidity unless there's some 1.03 available :(

And I didn't follow Sweden that much, just researched few results and what german media were predicting before WC started. So I also leave them alone.

Thanks a lot for Poland pick, easier than expected, greened out though but i don't think Germans got any chance. I will play some winnings on Serbia against Iceland, i think it will be a tight match so im Serbia at those odds, any opinions?

I'd make it a 50:50 shot so Serbia odds worth a small back (but don't blame me if Iceland roll over them now ;) )

Austria also has a strong yugoslavian population, so there should be lots of serbs at the game, could also be an advantage.

chief wrong forum too, there's no 0-0 tonight ;)

Germany game last 10 mins were exciting, fast paced, pretty open and Germany gone close 2 goals again. But less than 1 minute so it's game over.

But final 10 mins were what I wanna see!!!

Ofc won't blame you, it's my choice ;), but as u said should be 50/50 match so Serbia is worth a shot. Small stakes though.

Sweden and Iceland all over their opponents, France seem to have a tough game, also Croatia.

I skipped my back of France and backed Croatia instead, just for the record above.

If only had a good stream....could have tried some on serbia draw...this teach me another lesson, never bet if you don't have a good stream. It was disgusting to click every 10 seconds to get delayed pictures.

yeah mate, that's the reason why I changed to Croatia game. German TV advertised France but shown Croatia. Spain game had a decent stream but didn't find good other.

EHF website had streams but you have to pay for and as some dude in bwin chat said it wa salso delayed.

France 29 - 29 Hungary, first big surprice. Whoever was on France hopefully layed off @1.03 or 1.04 but I never thought that could get in danger.

Iceland 29 - 29 Serbia with last second 7m missed for Iceland

Sweden were up 7 goals, now 25 - 25, final minute.

Result for me:

Back Poland won
Back Spain won
Back Croatia won

France surely would have cost me, but wasn't televised (thank feck!)

Results:

Sweden - Slovenija 25 : 27
Iceland - Serbia 29 : 29
France - Hungary 29 : 29
Croatia - Norway 25 : 23
Germany - Poland 25 : 27
Spain - Czech Rep. 37 : 25
Russia - Ukraine 37 : 33
Denmark - Austria 33 : 29

Was following Handball since Germany won World Cup and got infected with the atmosphere and powerful play.

Sweden fu cked up a 7 goals lead (If you read first post I mentioned they're too unpredictable)

France also fu cked up after a 4 or 5 goals lead, did not see the game and can't say if France were that bad or Hungary that good...

Iceland - Serbia was the predicted 50 - 50 game, unfortunately for Serbia backers there never was a chance laying off :(

Russia game very close, Austria gave Denmark a good show, fans were cheering the whole 60 mins, well done austrians :)

Spain, Poland and Croatia with expected wins, but Germany came close last mins of the game and Croatia was a razor's edge.

Lokking forward to more of this :)

Day 2:

Czech Republic - France
Slovenija - Germany
Hungary - Spain
Poland - Sweden

France should be on fire tonight against the czechs who had no chance vs. Spain except first 10 mins of the game. Odds too low for me to back.

Sweden proofed that they're the unpredictable team which I said they were. Poland showed good game vs. Germany, when they needed to step up 1 gear, they did. Close result last evening was because Poland took of speed and concentration final few mins. Also Poland with world class defense and goal keepers. Sweden will find it hard tonight to break them down. I will stay away from that game because if Sweden has a good day they can beat Poland by a couple.

Spain showed that they're one of the title favourites. Hungary surprisingly beaten France. Of course Hungary are no walk-over but I don't think that they will beat the second fav tonight. Lots of hungarian supporters expected to view the game, little advantage as Spain's game yesterday didn't have that much spanish support.

Slovenija, suprisingly good fight against the swedish last night, made 7 goals back and beaten them by 2. Slovenija playing the same system like Croatia without having that many world class players but proven that they can beat Sweden who won EC more often than any other team. Germany as stated yesterday are building up a team, young unexperienced players. Defensive work and goal keeping were good, but giving the ball away too often during attacking play. Slovenija has good chances to beat the germans, 50-50 game imo.

For me it will be a small lay of Germany and backing Spain.
