with some bad decisions recently, will fans lose confidence in the fairness of ufc results. at manchester on saturday you got the feeling it was going to be a done deal unless vera knocked randy out. and the way the fight went that was not going to happen with randys tactics. i also found it strange the referee never put them back to the centre of the ring untll the crowds boos forced his hand
I think kill is more than a little extreme. It is a concern though, especially when people start believing bad judging to be fixed judging. If there's fixing going on then it most certainly isn't by the UFC because of the damage it does to the sport.
If I was a fan of conspiricy theories then I could believe it is boxing people bribing the judges, just like they allegedly do in boxing. The UFC has no say over who the judges/referees are.
What I actually think is that too much emphasis is placed on 'octagon control' and not enough on strikes. I do think Vera didn't fight a smart fight, he let himself get tied up by Randy and this is what lost him the fight. He should have kept his distance as much as he could.
