Gourlay out!
Report h96 November 9, 2009 3:44 PM GMT
wish we had the markets already
Report h96 November 9, 2009 3:45 PM GMT
so many inplay markets every day with next to no liquidity but bowls doesnt get any love by betfair :-(
Report curlywurly November 9, 2009 3:45 PM GMT
fuming here - betfair laziness has cost me and not for the first time lately
Report jimmy69 November 10, 2009 4:44 PM GMT
How can Betfair's supposed laziness affect you?
Report curlywurly November 10, 2009 7:46 PM GMT
erm...let me see.... there is no market so....erm....no you're right don't see how that can possibly affect me
Report owl4life November 10, 2009 11:55 PM GMT
he's mockin u jimmy, on an anonymous forum, the sheer audacity
Report jimmy69 November 11, 2009 8:13 AM GMT
Cheeky isn't he? Never heard of bookies I presume....lol
Report jimmy69 November 11, 2009 8:19 AM GMT
It was not Betfair's laziness that cost you money. You could have used any number of bookies who were offering prices on this. I e mailed Betfair last week to see if they were going to cover this event and they originally said they were not going to put up markets but had a change of heart over the weekend. So you have only yourself to blame Curlywurly.
Report curlywurly November 11, 2009 8:27 AM GMT
That so? - would you like to tell me which one of those bookies (which my max bet is 50p) I should have used
Report jimmy69 November 11, 2009 8:40 AM GMT
Oh look at me. I'm such a big winner that the bookies have restricted me to 50p...ffs. Get a life mate. Do you not have friends that you can get bets on with? Use your initiative. You can't blame Betfair. Without them then you wouldn't be really stuffed...lol
Report jimmy69 November 11, 2009 8:41 AM GMT
would
Report jimmy69 November 11, 2009 8:42 AM GMT
£277 currently matched Price/Stone...starts in 50 mins. Huge liquidity.

Report curlywurly November 11, 2009 8:45 AM GMT

Report Mully November 11, 2009 8:47 AM GMT
I'm making a few bob on this. Helps if you know some of the guys taking part.
Report jimmy69 November 11, 2009 9:12 AM GMT
I certainly do not work for Betfair.
Report Mully November 11, 2009 9:20 AM GMT
Any live streaming anywhere for this early match?
Report curlywurly November 11, 2009 9:23 AM GMT
no don't think so - bwin sometimes have some, but not today by the looks of it
Report curlywurly November 11, 2009 9:30 AM GMT
bwin does have a stream - not sure about the delay though
Report jimmy69 November 11, 2009 10:12 AM GMT
Price/Stone £917 matched ...lol
Report scarecrow November 11, 2009 10:30 AM GMT
thats not always a bad thing jimmy,i will let you dwell on it and figure out why although i suspect you no after all you have been here since 2001 so you must be doing something right bud.
Report curlywurly November 11, 2009 10:32 AM GMT
no live pics you clown - anyway who said it was going to break any turnover records
fact is myself and others make decent money on bowls - so when betfair fail to load up markets then imo it's not good enough
Report scarecrow November 11, 2009 10:35 AM GMT
i agree curly although i have found it has got better for liquidity over the years especially in some of the later events than this when there is less to trade on.
Report jimmy69 November 11, 2009 10:39 AM GMT
Good on you Curlywurly. I hope there are enough MUGS who are able to accommodate you.
Report curlywurly November 11, 2009 10:40 AM GMT
you're right scarecrow - same old story though, still battling against the horce racing/football mentality
Report scarecrow November 11, 2009 10:44 AM GMT
racing/football mentality is why most people lose curly on here imho anyway, there is much more value in other minority sports to try to make the game pay.
Report jimmy69 November 11, 2009 10:48 AM GMT
For every winner there is a loser...
Report scarecrow November 11, 2009 10:54 AM GMT
jimmy on here there are probably 90 losers to every 10 winners, that ratio would narrow if more people were shrewd enough to realise that there is more value on other markets rather than horse racing with track players, fast pics, inside knowledge etc and football with very small margins on the markets making it hard to be right often enough to make it pay.
Report jimmy69 November 11, 2009 10:56 AM GMT
We don't want the shrewdies playing these markets...lol
Report curlywurly November 11, 2009 10:59 AM GMT
funny guy this jimmy
Report scarecrow November 11, 2009 11:03 AM GMT

Report jimmy69 November 11, 2009 11:04 AM GMT

Hi RM.

4:1 Ross Set 1 end 4
Report scarecrow November 11, 2009 12:37 PM GMT
lets hope the beeb do not mess about but it would not surprise me if they showed john prices match or this one on now from the start with delayed coverage lol.
Report 1.01 Layer November 11, 2009 12:40 PM GMT
Their coverage isn't usually with the in play bettor in mind. Might ask for my license fee back.
Report curlywurly November 11, 2009 12:41 PM GMT
they went straight in yesterday
Report rugby man November 11, 2009 12:43 PM GMT

Report 1.01 Layer November 11, 2009 12:44 PM GMT
6-4 anderson now
Report scarecrow November 11, 2009 12:44 PM GMT
1.01 layer the mugs at the beeb do not realise that their viewing figures are made up by 50% in play bettors and 50% over 70 year olds i feel.
Report jimmy69 November 11, 2009 12:45 PM GMT
What about the 70yo in play bettors?
Report 1.01 Layer November 11, 2009 12:50 PM GMT
I often wonder if there are many oldies that bet on the bowls on here. I can't see it, personally but then why not. My Dad even sent an email with an attachment the other week.
Report scarecrow November 11, 2009 12:53 PM GMT
i am 44 years old and suspect that i am quite old for this game,i cannot see many people betting on here of that age they will all be in billy mountains set in their way i would guess.
Report John Wilshire is a god November 11, 2009 12:55 PM GMT
If it was BBC wales they would show the delayed match. The scots have been good every day this week gone straight to live. Hope they continue
Report 1.01 Layer November 11, 2009 1:00 PM GMT
Here we go. Sky channel 990 BBC2 Scot.

Report 1.01 Layer November 11, 2009 1:55 PM GMT

Report curlywurly November 11, 2009 1:56 PM GMT
no they wont - it's covered in the rules
Report 1.01 Layer November 11, 2009 1:59 PM GMT
I wish they did that on all markets. Caveat emptor.
Report tugruk November 11, 2009 2:34 PM GMT

Well played Weale. Marshall didn't turn up.
Report John Wilshire is a god November 11, 2009 3:28 PM GMT
Anderson won 2-0
Report 1.01 Layer November 11, 2009 3:29 PM GMT
Anderson must have won that one, turguk as he played (and beat) Ross earlier today.
Report scarecrow November 11, 2009 3:31 PM GMT
marshall is always a good lay he is always priced on reputation like gourlay and only ever seems to turn up in form at great yarmouth i think.
Report scarecrow November 11, 2009 3:34 PM GMT
we will be lucky to see more than the first set here unless they put it behind the red button later but i do not think they will myself.
