This could be a close game, but the difficulty is knowing which Joe Flacco/Ravens' offense will turn up. Baltimore are difficult to cap because it sometimes look as though they haven't really decided what the offense should look like: Ray Rice didn't carry the ball at all in the 4th quarter last week!
Presumably though, Baltimore are going to attack the shaky Washington secondary, but the home team have shown some improvement of late and have toughened up in the red zone, ranking eighth in the last three weeks. Flacco also seems less comfortable on the road, so the offense could struggle for rhythm, even against the Redskins. The Ravens have the weapons deep, and Washington are a little nicked up; it's about time Flacco showed he is made of the right stuff.
Washington are rolling ...
I suppose the pick here depends largely upon whether you believe Eli Manning is really back on track after last week's performance, or whether junior's arm will become a noodle again, and if the Giants are beginning their usual run down the stretch.
The poor Washington secondary could be in for a long night, with targets like Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz on offer. The loss of Andre Brown during the game against the Packers was unfortunate, but Ahmad Bradshaw can keep the ground game rolling against a Redskins' defense that can give up yards: look for Bradshaw down near the goal line, fumbles notwithstanding.
Washington go through rookie phenom RGIII and he will challenge the Giants tonight, especially with Garcon back in the lineup, the continued development of Aldrick Robinson and...
Cam Newton and Robert Griffin III face off - what's not to like?
This will come down to who can stifle the respective wunderkinds, because each is not merely the most important part of their team's offense in a positional sense (they're the QBs fer chrissakes!) they haven't anyone else to carry the team: Newton hasn't been as sharp this season and so the Panthers have been stymied.
Luckily for Carolina, they're going up against a Washington D that is pretty much hopeless against the pass and middling against the run. Steve Smith is due a TD and worth looking at in the TD market as Newton has begun to show flashes of form recently and the offense in general seems more cohesive - bear in mind too, that the Panthers have run Chicago and Atlanta close on the road and had five losses by...
