Buccs deserved to lose. Down 17-20 late in the game, 4th and 2 in the redzone and they choose to kick the FG. Might get away with that a few years ago but these days (especially with the stats on your side) a head coach is rightly going to get pelters.

Vikings v Rams later on . Under/overs is at 47.5. Rams haven’t been putting too many points on the board recently and Vikings not exactly high scorers. I’m on under for this one,

Sam Darnold meltdown here

Wild Card Round has been pretty bad tbh, only 1 really good game.

Thought game would be really close though, and vikings would sneak it

Darnold must have lost 10s of millions through that performance.
A franchise QB contract with someone would have been at least $40M per year for 3 years. Now at best looking at 'bridge quarterback' status, maybe less than half that. Or perhaps just another back up deal for $10M |

Certainly the last couple of weeks have not helped but in the cold light of day Darnold will still get a good deal I think. He's got the physical tools (as opposed to say Purdy) which is why he was highly drafted in the first place, still fairly young and he had a good season overall. He's surely more valuable than last season's Vikings QB and Kirk Cousins got 180m (100m) / 4yrs.

You may be right as I saw someone that was deeply into all this salary cap/QB value stuff who said his value will have dropped from $55M to $40M.
I dunno that I'd want to do that though. Cousins's value was based on several seasons as statistically impressive as 2024 Darnold, which may turn out to be an outlier. A team that gives him 3 years with maybe $100M of it guaranteed will be in a huge hole if he is regulary playing like the last 2 games. |

The problem for Darnold (if you can call it that for a very wealthy young man) is that there is a stigma attached to him, he went a long way to alleviating that this season but when it came to it in the biggest two games of his career he froze, held the ball too long, started seeing ghosts, missed easy throws and kept getting sacked.
It's probably not a stretch to say that despite the 14-2 season he's ultimately undone all of that by allowing us to see the "real" Darnold once again. |

Unfortunately for the Lions, Goff being in the same category as Darnold in that he had in the past been much maligned but had turned it around but he to found himself turning back into a pumpkin when it really really mattered.
