AFC East betting

Jets 6/4
Bills 15/8
Dolphins 2/1
Patriots 22/1

Jets 6/4!!!, has everyone had a memory wipe of the past god knows how many years, yes they'll have a good D but Rodgers coming off a year out with an Achilles at his age, not for me.

Miami will look brilliant offensively but what happens when it gets cold in a play off??

Yes Josh Allen will throw the odd pick but he remains one of the top 3 QB's and will put the team on his back if need be with those busting 30 yard runs, Diggs and Davis both leaving is a bit of a question but Diggs best years are behind him and Davis never really has quite fulfilled the potential.

Kincaid and Shakir will need to continue their progression and there will need to be more from the RB option other than Allen, but all in all the Bills are the most trustworthy in this division and I think they should be favs.

I know the play off Miami point is post the division but aside from that they become unreliable as the season progresses and had a shocking run of form toward the end of last season. The bills are just the most reliable having won the last 4 divisional titles.

I'd take the Jets over the Dolphins. Maybe last season has convinced everyone that Tua is made of granite rather than balsa wood and Rodgers is retired already but in reality they both have durability concerns. Plus the Jets have a reliable backup QB now. I agree the Bills should be favs in that div.

Looking forward as ever - fantasy leagues sorted and Red Zone ready!

I fear that the season revolves around a Chiefs three-peat as Roger. Sprinkle in a Half time Kelce/Swift proposal and you have nirvana for Roger and the powers that be.

I think the most improved teams will be Chargers or Eagles, especially the former as they have an elite QB and a really good HC even if he polarises opinion.  Eagles should be better - too many good players.

Re AFC East Jets look a good price to me - a fit Rodgers = a top 5 WR in Garret Wilson.  Bills have lost their wideouts and their D are getting older.

My Browns - 9-8 or 8-9 mediocrity...

Good luck all.

I think Rodgers mentally checked out of this a couple of years back.

Losing that play off to the 49ers I thought would be devastating for him, but he was on Mcafees's show next day and seemed quite unbothered.

Then didn't seem to mind losing that crucial game to the Lions the next year.. and it seememd he was really close to retiring before he wearily finally signed with the Jets.

And the injury he had I think makes other injuries much more likely. I think the Jets will be a disaster.

If that was the case I don't think Rodgers would have seemingly pulled out all the stops to try to return at the end of last season, rather than just retire at that point. Torn achilles would normally be 6 mths rehab minimum even for someone half his age but he was apparently close enough to a return that they activated him from IR and gave him a roster spot. Of course his body may well let him down again but he seems pretty driven to me.

Thought 1st game lived up to billing, Lamar played well but then basically choked at the end.

Decent game, Ravens a little unfortunate with the toe on the line at the end to get within 1 point.

Taken the odds against on the Packers tonight. Go Jordan Love. Wink

I get the sense he is transitioning to a media/podcasting career, and the attention he drew to his rehab was a 'reality TV' type move in itself. Of course it's just my take on it, and - though I am biggest red on Jets - it would be great to see him something like his best.

Aaron Rodgers being 40 makes me feel really old. I remember when he was just a prospect finally getting a shot when Brett Favre left.

I'd take Al Michaels with virtually anyone. Him and the late Pat Summerall are the two great voices of the NFL in my lifetime.

I think Al Michaels was done in by that Jacksonville/Chargers play off game year before last.

It was a comeback for the ages but he just seemed to have no energy for it. Was absolutely slaughtered online as being totally past it.

Most pundits calling on him to retire, but just started a 5 year mega deal Confused

Yep ..GoBallistic...but the current Al Michaels is a pale imitation, father time catches up with everyone sadly.

The spark has gone out of his voice and he's slow to pick things up.

A few interesting Week 2 results.

Baltimore losing at home to the Raiders to drop to 0-2
Minnesota beat the 49ers to move to 2-0
Detroit loses at home to Tampa
New Orleans puts up 40+ again, this time in Dallas

Tampa were the outsider I backed.

Couldn't understand how they were 200+. A good play off team last year and the main cast were all still there.

Very surprised by Minnesota though.

I also backed Dallas and was optimistic after last week, not so much after today.

I had Tampa as favs to win the division again (someone has to).
The Jags are the biggest disappointment to me. They're almost as bad as they were with Urban Meyer.
The Rams are very well coached but without Donald I just don't see they have the talent (and that was before Kupp and Nakua got injured).

All you needed to do to turn Carolina from the worst team in the league to potential division winners was bench Bryce Young.
