If true there should be a queue of clubs ready to give the Texans what they want.
3 first round picks + apparently. Would you?
On balance I probably would he's that good. Top 4 or 5 qb's don't come round that often, especially at his age. There's plenty of examples out there of teams squandering 1st round picks, with this deal you get a proven player but still with massive upside and potential to come.
Pittsburgh or Atlanta for example immediately spring to mind.
JJ Watt wants out of there too. I hope they can both escape as a shame to see top players spend almost all the rest of their careers on a 6-10 type team (no one really thinks the people running the place will successfully rebuild in less than 3-4 years)
Pittsburgh makes sense as they have a good enough team to compete with Watson even if they give up draft picks. Joining an Atlanta team with no good picks for years I think would be no better off than Houston.

Can't see it happening but I'd definitely be up for a blockbuster trade if I was the new HC at Houston. Not that Watson isn't good but when you look at the deal he signed recently it starts getting very expensive from 2022 onwards. The window where you can have Watson at a low cap hit has one year left. Thanks to previous mismanagement the Texans aren't going to be contenders next season with or without him. Trade would most likely have to include at least top young player - very few teams with enough draft capital

Miami. Send Tua to Houston and give them picks which Miami have to splash, they have 2 first rounders and 2 second rounders this year. Send JJ with him. Who else has the goods apart from Miami? Jacksonville and the Jets both have top picks and a ton of cap space but to execute the trade Watson has to waive his no trade clause, would he do it to go to either?
Watson in Miami could be special, imagine that rivalry with Allen in Buffalo for years to come For Houston, they may as well blow it all up completely and start from the ground up.

I think Miami is quite likely... Atlanta might be another option, given that Miami already have two QBs, while Washington could be interested and could turn out to be a decent side with a QB hike.

Tua is just inexperienced sophie... he scampers well and does have a decent enough arm. I think Miami gave him that grounding this year possibly with a view to trading him before next season. Some prime draft picks would be a real advantage for them at the moment to strengthen across the board.

Hardly a surprise JJ wants out and they should let him. Man deserves a proper chance at a ring.
Looking more likely every day Deshaun has played his last game in Houston.

49ers would have to give up some established stars to get him though unless they trade away their future, they don't have the draft capital and Jimmy G is worth bugger all. Would they actually do it? Huge gamble to take even though it could lead to a Super Bowl win. Injury free in a weak NFC they are good enough without a superstar QB. I'd love to see Rodgers end up there.
I don't understand the Jets either. Get on the phone Dolphins!

No one knows how true some of these rumors are. But where there’s smoke, there’s sometimes fire. And there certainly is plenty of smoke about Watson going to the Jets.
The Jets are one of the few teams with the desire, financial flexibility, and most importantly the assets to get a deal done. And for that reason, many have labeled them a realistic trade partner for the Texans.

Of course, the Jets will need to figure out what the plan is at the quarterback position. Whether that’s keeping Sam Darnold or looking to the draft for his replacement is currently unclear.
But if Watson becomes available, all bets are off.

For most of the season it was questioned whether the Jets were so bad that a college kid who has yet to play a snap in the NFL might ask for a trade rather than play for them. Now one of the highest paid players in the NFL wants to go there ???

Official trade request reported today, apparently lodged weeks ago. Let the sweepstakes begin
Houston don't have to trade him he is under contract but the trend is with American sports when the stars want to leave, they leave. The NBA is notorious for this, see if the Texans get pressured into it. He's under contract until 2025 so plenty of time to mend fences. Would be terrible for team culture though is the superstar QB is miserable, somebody will offer overs for him, better off fleecing someone and moving on.
Hopkins and Tunsil trades have destroyed Houston as a franchise for years it seems.

If I'm Watson I do not even consider going to any team in the AFC.
2 reasons. Mahomes. And The Chiefs. To even get to a Superbowl he needs to go through them, not an easy task, imo the best of the other young qb are now in there too. Jackson, Allen, Mayfield etc.
NFC on the other hand seriously ageing QB situation, no proper number 1 team. Could go somewhere and almost make them the fav or close too it. Could definitely whip a team to the bowl in a couple of years with the correct setup.
Dolphins n jets be two I would avoid 100 percent.
Didnt realise either his year 1 with other team actually very very cheap, team friendly due to Houston being a joke

Bill o Brien stra9in to a fantastic job with The Tide...
Absolutely classic old pals act. Guys a bust. An idiot.
Don't tell me it's just as general manager either. Hes a useless coach and talent spotter too.

Russell Wilson has been spouting similar to DeShaun Watson about wanting input on personnel decisions. Given his contract, maybe 2021 will be his last year in Seattle.

JJ at the Cards could make them a play off team next season but, they have some division to battle with next season albeit that is very much dependent upon Murray.

A 14th woman has filed a lawsuit accusing Houston Texans star quarterback Deshaun Watson of sexual assault and harassment.
The complaint, which was filed Monday night and appeared on the Harris County district clerk’s website on Tuesday morning, describes Watson as a “serial predator” ands alleges that he “assaulted and harassed Plaintiff by exposing himself to her and touching her with his penis”.
The claims in the latest suit are similar to those in the earlier cases in which the women accuse Watson of exposing himself, touching them with his ***** or kissing them against their will while he got a massage. The most recent lawsuit was filed by a woman who alleges Watson assaulted her in July 2020 in Beverly Hills, California. Six others lawsuits were filed earlier Monday while the others were filed last week.
Tuesday’s suit is only the second of the 14 to take place outside the Houston area.
Watson’s attorney, Rusty Hardin, has called the allegations “meritless”, while the NFL player has broadly denied he acted inappropriately.
The 14 women, who have sued separately, have not been identified in the lawsuits. They are represented by Houston lawyer Tony Buzbee, who’s said he planned to submit evidence from several of the women to investigators.
Authorities have declined to comment on the allegations.
The NFL has said it’s investigating the allegations against Watson

Watson to Miami gathering significant traction, possibly this week. Interested to see what they will have to give up, given Deshaun has been a very naughty boy and has at best a major PR issue and at worst, a stint in prison upcoming.

As I understand it, the NFL has only not suspended him because they are waiting for the legal developments. Investigation is ongoing with no sign of him being cleared any time soon.
All the discussions are still about the same level of round 1 picks as it was in January, as if nothing has happened to devalue him. 'Caserio has been asking for three first-round draft choices and two second-round picks.'
So a team could give all that up for a guy who immediately gets indefinitely suspended

It's a strange one. Also Miami are just a really poor side - possibly the worst NFL team right now. Given they have a reasonable starting QB and far-from-the-worst back-up QB option, it doesn't seem like rocket science to work out that that position isn't their biggest problem...

Detroit, Houston and possibly Jacksonville all worse than the Dolphins IMO. They are definitely a below average team, we can agree on that, just not the worst!

Ahhh, I did say 'possibly'... I think they have a bit more talent on paper than some teams but are underperforming - and achieving zip - as a team.
For the record, I have the bottom 4 rated teams as: New York Jets (79) Detritus Lions (76) Miami Dolphins (75) Houston Texans (75)
Basically I agree with you that those teams are down there, but would say there isn't much between them. I do actually have Jacksonville slightly higher in a little group of three in the mid-80s that also includes Seattle(!) and Washington.

I've actually backed Detroit to get their first win of the season tomorrow for the sole reason that the Eagles are rubbish and should not be 1.59 on the road against anybody.

Still no movement then on Deshaun either, running out of time for someone to pull the trigger on this. I don't blame anyone for not wanting to sell the whole ranch to get him, just too much uncertainty with his situation to pay the asking price.

No deal, Watson stays with the Texans and the Dolphins move forward with Tua (at least for now)
Meanwhile the Saints stay put and pretty much give up any chance of titles this season

Watson to Cleveland confirmed in exchange for three first-round picks in 2022, 2023 and 2024 as well as a 2023 third-round pick and a 2024 fourth-round pick. $230 million over 5 years with every cent guaranteed
Great result for Houston, can actually start building a future now.

i dont understand the american legal system. even after he was cleared of any criminal charges most everyone still believes he is guilty, does this mean that the case wasnt properly investigated or what? and its widely expected that the nfl is going to suspend him, on what grounds can they suspend him if he was cleared of criminal charges?

It was probably properly investigated but you still need enough suitable evidence for a conviction, same as here and we've had plenty of cases where people have walked when there is still a high possibility of guilt...
I assume the NFL aren't likely to suspend him now or even by Cleveland standards this would be a huge mess...

Never mind the draft picks given up, they have guaranteed Watson $230M ! Every penny must be paid however it all turns out!
Mahomes, who already has an MVP and a Super Bowl, and is squeaky clean, is only guaranteed $125M.
And they know Watson is going to be suspended , because they have kindly made his 2022 salary peanuts ($1M !) so that he doesn't lose any of his big cheques while he is sat at home later this year.
The civil cases against him are not being dropped, he either will have to go to court or settle them. And the announcement that he has hundreds of millions coming is not gonna encourage the plaintiffs to settle lightly.
Either way he will be suspended by the NFL, and the minimum is 6 games, but likely a fair few more. He last played a game in January 2021 and his first game for the Browns could be his first game for almost 2 years.
Head in hands stuff IMO

The NFL's personal conduct policy means it can suspend people regardless of legal outcomes.

Looking worse for Watson, and horrendous for the Browns. Another lady has gone public with her story...
“As Plaintiff attempted to focus on getting the massage completed, at some point, Watson got an erection, causing his towel to fall off. By this point, Watson, was now completely naked and exposed. Watson then started to masturbate.
“Plaintiff immediately stopped the massage. Apparently responding to look of shock on Plaintiff’s face, Watson said to Plaintiff, ‘Relax. It is okay to touch it.'”
The suit says the accuser “refused Watson’s entreaties” but things continued to get worse.
“Watson then stood up and continued masturbating more aggressively,” the suit claims. “As he did so, Watson asked the Plaintiff, ‘Where do you want me to put it?’ Plaintiff by this point was in complete shock and could not speak. She froze. Watson quickly ejaculated; some of his ejaculate got on Plaintiff’s chest and face.”
The suit claims that the accuser immediately ran off to the bathroom to clean off Watson’s ejaculate. There was no apology from the quarterback, as he got dressed and sent the accuser $150 via CashApp. The woman quit massage therapy soon after the alleged incident.
The suit also claims that Watson has sought massages from “random strangers on Instagram” on “more than a hundred” occasions.
