It wasnt that i didn't rate kap, but i just hated the way alex smith was treated, especially with the way harbaugh preached

I suppose the gamble was that they thought Kaepernick could have won them a Superbowl and to be fair, he came very close on two occasions whereas they probably couldn't see Smith actually getting it done for whatever reason - too much of a game manager. Not saying I agreed with their decision but it almost paid off. I must admit I do wonder what would have happened had they drafted Aaron Rodgers instead of Alex Smith...
