Orioles 3-2 up after 2 innings. Both Sherchzer and Tillman suspect to the long ball here.

Big inning for Scherchzer there, 3 up, 3 down. Hopefully he has settled down. Tigers can score off Tillman whose pitch count is high. 3-2 Orioles top of the 4th. Cabrera, Victor and JD Martinez up for Detroit Excited

3-2 Baltimore end of 4th.

Tigers leave the bases loaded top of the 5th Shocked
Report themightymac October 3, 2014 12:33 AM BST
Terrific play by Miggy at 1st base there. End of 5 still 3-2 Orioles. This match will be decided by the bull pens, which should favour Tigers as Detroit has better relief pitchers and Scherchzer still plenty of petrol in the tank. Tillman got out of jail last inning and his night is over. Baltimore in bullpen already top of the 6th. Excited

Tigers dodge a bullet. Pearce hits wall and thrown out at 2nd. 3-2 Baltimore end of 6th. Orioles back to bull pen. O`Day side armer in for 7th.
Report themightymac October 3, 2014 12:55 AM BST
Miller still pitching for Orioles.
Report themightymac October 3, 2014 12:59 AM BST
2 down pitcher change. O`Day replaces Miller (who pitched brilliantly).
Report themightymac October 3, 2014 1:04 AM BST
7th inning stretch. Remains 3-2 Orioles. Time running out on Tigers. Need to do something with top of order coming up in 8th. Scherchzer needs a clean 7th though.
Report themightymac October 3, 2014 1:08 AM BST
Home Run JJ Hardy. 4-2 Orioles.
Report themightymac October 3, 2014 1:15 AM BST
End of 7th. 4-2 Baltimore. Tigers up against it now but top of the order coming up. Big hitters need to score here.
Report themightymac October 3, 2014 1:25 AM BST
Home Run Miggy 4-3 Orioles. Hunter previously hit into a double play which cost them big time.

Tigers self imploding in the 8th. 7-3 Baltimore and bases loaded with 1 out. Game over. Well played Orioles.
Report themightymac October 3, 2014 1:54 AM BST
10-3 Orioles with 6 runs in the 8th and still going.

3-2 Kansas 11th inning. Hit the least home runs in baseball and win with the long ball. Angels had so many chances to win that game and blew it big time. Credit to Aoki on them wonderful game saving catches.  Devil

I like those plucky Royals, cheering for them to beat LA.

I think the Angels even the series tonight however.
Report themightymac October 3, 2014 10:01 PM BST
One has to admire their committment, they just never give up. How they beat Oakland after being 7-3 down in the 8th was totally unbelievable. Same last night, kept plugging on after Angels blew chance after chance to put them away. Aoki made 2 fantastic catches deep in right field to save their bacon. Hats off to the guy he was fantastic. Trout and Pujols were non existent last night. Problem with Royals is they usually need 2 or 3 hits in an inning to score runs, but they have a great Bull Pen and perhaps their name is on the trophy? They seem to want it more than the opposition.

Great pitching duel going on right now between Kershaw and Wainwright. Who will crack first?
Report themightymac October 4, 2014 7:38 PM BST
Wainwright cracked first, Kershaw later followed him. This game never surprises me anymore but who in their right mind would have thought that Dodgers would surrender a 4 run lead going into the 7th with Kershaw on the mound. Cardinals scoring 8 runs in the inning. Unbelievable stuff. Anybody selling the total runs on the spread got their fingers burned there. Shocked
Report themightymac October 4, 2014 7:41 PM BST
Kansas City do it again. This team has great spirit and one has to admire their determination. First team in MLB history to win their first 3 post season games all in extra innings. Shocked

Where is the Dodger total tonight Betfair? My Oh My!Confused
Report FATMax October 5, 2014 2:22 AM BST
I have spoke to betfair about the human error of the missing
Dodger game total score and yes the operator was also stunned,
but they are now well aware and have plenty of time to get
organized thanks to us customers again.
I believe it when I see it,
im going to the tab account for this one!!!

I guess even Betfair feel now the money is so sparse it just isn't worth it anymore.

Liquidity is a joke on MLB in running. Was waiting on Nats for an accy for 5k and no liquidity to lay off for something decent. Went to 18 innings and of course they got beat 2-1. 4 play off games have gone to extra innings and I`ve been beat in all 4 Cry My mate who is a bookie says they level out. Well they don`t for me. As I said earlier in the thread, I NEVER win in extra innings, which imo is a bit of a Lottery. Cry

Years ago, there was some good Forum interchange on MLB games, now one ends up talking to oneself, which is the first sign of insanity Crazy

Where have all the knowledgeable good guys gone, particularly tai who knew his stuff? Even my learned friend Orioles has disappeared and his team has a big shot at the lot. Sad

The host has done it in. Many early players made $250 K over the years here and are done. The biggest forum participants were those who saw $ for their efforts. Hard to make a go or tip a team on these markets. There was some good advertising(yesteryear) by regulars who got casuals to wager through forum banter. Maybe it was destined to die and the corporation is doing what it can to prosper. However make no mistake, things will never come back here like before.

Interesting matchup tonight with Lackey vs Ryu
Report themightymac October 7, 2014 3:49 PM BST
With Kershaw on the mound against Miller and Gonzalez up against Vogelsong, one would think that Dodgers and Nationals were certainties. Just under 2/1 for the double. But as we all know, it just takes either Kershaw or Gonzalez to be OFF with their pitching and one is truly ******. Funny old game at times but this looks money for old rope. Excited
Report walllace007 October 7, 2014 9:43 PM BST
TMM you would think but Kershaw got hammered last time out, throwing over 100 pitches in a stress filled outing. It was very out of character but maybe he is feeling the effects of a long season. Coming back here on short rest i cant see him going more than 6 innings then handing it over to the disasterous dodgers bullpen that keeps on giving. The Cards have a great post season pedigree and i think they have a great chance to win, can see them getting to Kershaw and then hammering the bullpen.. Miller is reasonably solid for the Cards but no surprise to see the Dodgers score runs either. 6.5 total runs seems very low given what i have said above.
Cards to win 1pt
Over 6.5 runs 3pts

Good logical post wallace. Small loss overall for you. Big loss for me. Good to see other good opinions on these games like the old days. Well done on the outright pick. You should post more often mate.

Kershaw pitched brilliantly but once again tried to do too much. Would have been more sensible going to the bull pen in the 7th, but like you said, they have been dodgy and Mattingly made a big mistake. If they had, they would have won 2-0 given the way Baez pitched. As I said earlier, a game of inches. Gordon misses catch by inch to his right, next one goes half an inch over the glove of Ramirez and then big "fatty" Adams hits a 3 run homer over the wall by an inch. It`s all down to luck at the end of the day. When ones luck is out, like mine has been all week, one has no chance. If I had bet Cardinals, there is no way Adams would have hit that 3 run shot. Cry

I`ve now switched to Giants. Why? Because I fancy the Nationals and my luck is out. Laugh

KC are playing like a team possessed. Orioles have the long ball. St Louis know how to win. Giants are always dangerous. Roll up, roll up and take your pick. Shocked
Report walllace007 October 9, 2014 8:35 PM BST
Home advantage seems to be overrated by the oddsmakers, particularly in the Postseason. Often when home teams play in front of manic full houses in playoffs as opposed to half empty morgues during regular season I would imagine it can put more pressure on the home team and be a hindrance. With this in mind no reason why Shields cant beat Tillman.

In terms of overall winner very hard to call..
