A provisional mid-term Quarterback report, I'll publish the definitive list after week 8.

1-4
Peyton
Brees
Brady
Rodgers

These 4 set the standard, they and only they are the elite. It looked like Manning might have stolen a march but after last night the no 1 spot is up for grabs(although its noticeable that he was throwing excellently until the sack from Mathis that forced a safety). He's had serious weapons to throw to all year though and Brady and Rodgers up to this point have not.

5-7
Andrew Luck
Russel Wilson
Colin Kaepernick

If someone is going to join the Elite I suspect it will be one of these 3. Their are the forefront of the new rising generation of QB

8 Tony Romo
Is flat out balling this year, seems to be a bit more surefooted in his throwing, has the talent to win a SB no question but there will always be doubts until he and his Dallas Cowboys just go and do it.

9 Andrew Dalton
Has his critics but has thrown for 6 TDs and over 700 yards in his last 2 games, not bad going for a ginger, not bad at all althogh both victories came down to late FGs. Still, they were both on the road and Dalton and his 5/2 Bengals are getting the job done.

10 Phillip Rivers
Not done yet and a bit like Romo just seems to be throwing more intelligently than he has done this year.

11 Cam Newton
Their is a good Can and a bad Cam but we've been seeing more of the good Cam as of late and when he's good, he's very very good

12 Alex Smith
Will always be known as a good game manager rather than a great QB and there's no question Chiefs being 7-0 has more to do with it's D than it's O. Nevertheless they are 7/0 and Smith deserves an awful lot of credit

13-14
Joe Flacoo
Ben Roethlisberger
Neither has been setting the world alight this year but no one would fancy facing either of them much in the playoffs

15 RG3
Has been showing signs lately but no question he has slipped some bit behind the rest of the rookie class from last year. I expect him to be top 10 before the year is out however

16 Matt Stafford
Been quietly going about his business in impressive manner this season but Lions suffered a crushing defeat yesterday that might linger for a while.

17 Jay Cutler
Still frustrating and inconsistent, suffered a big injury setback. Bears D been struggling lately too, they look further away from a SB than ever.

18 Geno Smith
Inconsistency is the curse of the rookie and Geno's been no exception. Has delivered for Jets though and is giving them an amighty lift this season.

19 Micheal Vick
Is not the longterm solution for Philly and looks past his best at this stage

20 Eli Manning
The less said the better perhaps.

21-24
Jake Locker
Terrle Pryor
Sam Bradford
Ryan Tannehill
All these lads have shown glimpses of what they can do this season but inevitably revert to type espicially Tannehill who'll be fighting for his NFL future from here on. Bradfords injury couldn't have come at a worse time for him.

25 Carson Palmer
A pick machine, he's thoroughly exposed and just not up to it at this level.

26 Matt Schaub
Stick a fork in this guy, he's done.

27 Gabbert/Henne
Whatever...

NA's
-Mike Glennon
Doesn't stand a chance at the joke that is Tampa. Threw 2 beauties yesterday so clearly has talent.

- Josh Freeman
Been **** around at Tampa, could take him a few games to find his rhythm  with his new offensive setup but has potential to move up rankings starting tonight.

EJ Manuel, Brian Hoyer
Injury **** both of these in the same match just as they were beginning to announce themselves as serious operators.

Texans might have found a diamond in the rough with Case Keenum, he certainly looked the part last night, still to early to say though and if he doesn't work out I expect them to be leading the charge for a new QB in the off season along with Cards, Jags and Philly.

Matt Ryan should be in the top 6 imo
Report Mr Mischief October 21, 2013 10:27 PM BST
Knew I'd forget someone, I'd have him tied for 13th with Alex Smith
Report Nayim October 23, 2013 11:59 AM BST
Phil Rivers deserves to be higher imo.

2nd highest yardage, averaging 305 yds a game with a stunning 74% completion rate.

And with what at WR?

Back to normal for Dalton
Report d13phe November 1, 2013 12:31 PM GMT
this has to be one of the worst lists I have ever seen.

I wish I could draft Matthew stafford at number 16 in my NFL fantasy league every year.

Wilson in the top 6 is laughable.
Report dlarssonf November 1, 2013 2:34 PM GMT
Wilson is a good qb
Report d13phe November 1, 2013 3:00 PM GMT
he is a good QB but you can't have him in front of Qbs like Ryan and Stafford who have put up big numbers every year
Report dlarssonf November 1, 2013 3:02 PM GMT
Well it's certain not laughable, agree with Stafford, not a fan of Ryan
Report HARRY22 November 2, 2013 3:50 PM GMT
is this some kind of joke?
Report HARRY22 November 2, 2013 3:55 PM GMT
I think it is obvious which are ranked at a still number....remember 2 seasons ago eli was better than peyton after all them 4th quarter wins....andy dalton is too high, as d13 has touched on stafford is way better than his ranking,
Report HARRY22 November 2, 2013 4:04 PM GMT
rodgers
brady
manning
brees
kaep
luck
stafford
romo

this is the top 8 in order who I would take today
